Hi Katrina,
Thanks for your comments. I purchased some whole beans from one of Mike's advertisers, Jarbee, and I'm really enjoying the Seattle Blend. I have to admit that my morning coffee is about 1.5 cups but I savor it. I have been able to keep to that one cup since the 1st of the year. My sleeping is better and my overall alertness throughout the day. I don't go up and down like I was between crappy cups of coffee.
I'm not sure how much money I am saving but after a few months I'll check out the comparison as I track all of my spending.

Best,
Bob

I had the same experience with drinking more and more coffee.

I got a french press (easier to make just one cup), and invest in really good quality coffee. Rather than drinking 6 or 7 hasty, mediocre, expensive cups during the day, I splurge on quality coffee and take the time to really enjoy my morning cup.

Sometimes, after a really stressful day I'll treat my self to a second cup when I get home.

Not only has it saved me money, but taking the time, and ritual, of brewing my own coffee has really increased my appreciation for coffee, beyond a method for getting caffeine into my blood stream.

Hi Nour,
Thanks for your comments. I actually really liked the folks at Starbucks because they tended to be friendly, but not in a fake way. I couldn't say the same for Dunkin Donuts, which I am ashamed to say, I have frequented in the past. I am really lovin the morning coffee experience at work with my new personal coffee maker at the recommendation of Mike. I will NEVER quit drinking coffee, or wine for that matter...
Thanks for your comment on my post...
Best,
Bob

This is a great blog! Thanks for the post! I used to work at a Barnes and Noble cafe and one lady came every morning and complained how expensive the brewed coffee was. If it wasn't about good customer service and making money, I would've told her "why are you here then, stop complaining and make your own!!??"

I like the point about skipping the pastries at the coffee shop. I'm a dietitian and absolutely agree that out of sight, out of "body" ! I'll use your tip when working with my clients :)

And coffee aroma! mmmmm

Hi Mike,
It was my pleasure. I gained a lot more from meeting you than otherwise, but I'm glad I could help you out as well. Good luck and I'll be reading Daily Shot of Coffee regularly.

Best,
Bob

I just wanted to thank Bob again for the guest post. This week has been crazy with my day job and this guest post really helped. Plus, it's a great read. I love hearing stories of people that used to drink "crappy" coffee and are now drinking quality coffee.

Hi Anne,
It's funny but they just put in a brand new coffee system at my work last week and I haven't even tried it. Everyone is raving about it because the previous stuff was horrible (as I wrote in the post). I'm still sticking with my personal brew because I know everything that is going into it. My co-workers don't know what they are missing. I am impressed with your sister and her French press. It might be worth a little extra hair! :-)

Best,
Bob

Hi Steve,
Mike is a great guy and was very kind to do a guest post on my blog at my request. There was no hesitation and I appreciated that very much. I am doing my best to try different coffees myself. Recently Mike had an offer for a free sample of Jarbees coffee and I got the Seattle Blend. It was so good I ordered a pound of the whole beans for myself just the other day. Glad to hear you've joined the ranks of home brewers!

Best,
Bob
