An Alternative To Expensive Coffee House Dessert Coffees?
I’m not going to lie, I have a serious weakness for the White Chocolate Mochas, Caramel Machiattos and other sugar filled dessert coffees that chain coffee shops sell. When International Delights offered to send me two of their new creamers, I couldn’t say no. They promised that with their CoffeeHouse Inspirations Skinny Caramel Macchiato and Skinny Vanilla Latte I could replicate my favorite coffee house drinks at home, while saving time, money and now fat?
They are healthier. They each have 0 fat and 30 calories per serving. However, the taste wasn’t for me. Maybe, I’m too spoiled with the over the top vanilla lattes and caramel machiattos that I’m used to paying too much for. Of course, I may not be the target audience anymore. There was a time when I load my coffee with more sugar and cream than actual coffee. Now, I’m more into the discovering the flavors that different coffee beans naturally produce.
Have you tried these CoffeeHouse Inspirations creamers? What did you think?

I tried the White Chocolate Mocha… didn’t really care for it. Didn’t have much of a taste.
Then again, even in espresso drinks, unless coffee shops use the White Chocolate Sauce, rather than say, the Torani syrups, I don’t really think the flavor shows much in the hot drinks.
Was wanting to try the others, I may pass after reading this though.
I like the Torani syrups, but I have to agree with you that nothing compares to the sauces. Those are the only things that taste completely natural.
i have tried these and quite a few of the other bottled
flavors Mike. to get a full taste, i found i had to really
load the cup with the favor and as you said, the
actual coffee taste came in 2nd place.
also, and a big issue for me, is the list of ingredients.
i’d really prefer MORE real food groups in these flavors
than what they list. (hint to the manufacturers)
my family just adds a Godiva chocolate bit or
something similar and stirs it in when we want flavor.
i think i’ve seen one ‘organic’ flavored real cream mix
out of ten more or less totally sugared watery fake creamers locally.
a good ‘real’ flavor is hard to find.
some of the more natural compounded one come in
dry mixes which a diehard like myself can pack
and take with me and add to a plain coffee on the road.
The Godiva chocolate added directly in sounds good to me right about now.
I’ll have to keep an eye out for the organic flavored creams. I haven’t seen those yet.
ever since i started drinking coffee without sugar, my desert coffee is and Americano with one sugar and some skim milk lol
Besides a few over the top white chocolate mochas, I’m not too far behind you.
Hi Everyone,
At this moment there are two creamers in the refrigerator the same ones you mentioned. They are alright in a pinch but not my favorite quality drink. After trying different concoctions I keep going back to using the “fat free 1/2 and 1/2″ along with a “flavored sugar free syrup” together with my double strength brewed coffee it is a “winner”. For one thing I get many servings for the money invested in the ingredients compared to buying one at the coffee shop. I’m with you Mike about “caramel” there is something about it that is very addicting. When I worked at a coffee shop years ago it was fun to ask the customers what was there favorite candy bar and we would use a combination of syrups in small amounts to achieve their fav.candy bar drink hot or cold and it blew their mind that it could be done. Loved those barista days. Everyone have a great end of summer wonder when the temps are going to drop? I’m ready now and I’ll drink to that!
Thanks for making me crave some delicious caramel!
I don’t think the temps are ever going to drop. They just keep getting hotter and hotter here.
Once again Mike a nice review…
I love to follow your blog in my spare time.
Well after I have read this review I have to say it doesn’t surprise at all that it wasn’t as good as promised, it never is all most everything that are “pre-done” like that taste like plastic and chemicals…
True flavor comes from high quality products, that have been taken good care of.
Kind Regards
Michael Jensen
