Part of the reason that I started this blog was to learn more about coffee, that and I hoped that coffee producers would send me free coffee…to review of course!
I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know everything or even a lot about coffee. I’m definitely not an expert, but I’m eager to learn everything that I can about my favorite caffeinated beverage.
I thought I would start out my education with some of the basics. A lot of these things I already knew, but it also did clarify somethings for me. I hope it helps you out too.
Coffee: Coffee is brewed beverage from roasted seeds that are called coffee beans that come from the (you won’t believe this) coffee plant. It has stimulating effect on humans, which I can tell you from first hand experience, especially around 8 a.m. It’s also one of the most popular beverages in America.
Cafe Mocha: Cafe Mocha is a variant of the latte (see below). It’s made up of a third espresso, two thirds steamed milk and mixed with some kind of chocolate. It’s also my personal favorite, what can I say…I have a sweet tooth.
Cappuccino: Cappuccino is an Italian drink made of espresso, hot milk and steamed milk foam.
Espresso: An espresso (not expresso) is a concentrated coffee beverage, brewed by forcing hot water under pressure through finely ground coffee. It’s thicker than regular coffee and is used to make other drinks like cappucinos, lattes and more.
Latte: A latte is a coffee drink made with hot milk. It has more steam and texture than a cappuccino.
