What famous person would you like to have coffee with?
The first choices that popped into my head were the late author Hunter S. Thompson and actress Jessica Alba. I have no idea if Hunter would even have room on the breakfast table with all his other drinks, but I’m sure it would make for one very interesting conversation. With Jessica Alba, it’s Jessica Alba, what else can I say besides that she’s appeared on two of my favorite TV shows, Entourage and The Office.
DeLonghi the Italian manufacture of coffee makers and espresso machines asked that that question to coffee drinkers of Great Britain.
Their most popular male answers were all politicians: U.S. President Barack Obama led with 39% of the vote, 22 percent of voters said Boris Johnson, the mayor of London and the leader of their Conservative Party David Cameron had 16% of the vote. Celebrities like American Idol judge Simon Cowell only had 15% of the vote and soccer star David Beckham had 11%.
For the women, it was singers like Cheryl Cole having 17% of the vote, Lilly Allen and Victoria Beckham both had 11% of the vote and actress Emma Watson having 9% of the vote.
DeLonghi then commissioned coffee artist Søren Stiller Markussen to create “latte etchings” with just chocolate and milk foam on top of an espresso shot.
The faces that create are amazing artworks and from watching the video I could see that it takes an incredible talent to do it. It’s almost so beautiful that I wouldn’t want to drink the latte when it was all done.
On a side note, they’re giving away four De’Longhi EC330S coffee machines at http://www.t5m.com/competitions. I couldn’t stop myself from entering.
