Community Coffee: Introducing Daily Shot Of Coffee’s Newest Advertiser

by Mike in Coffee Sites

I’ve had a lot of exciting coffees come into the Daily Shot Of Coffee Kitchen. However, Community Coffee has sent bag after bag of quality coffee that has stood out, so I’m excited to announce that they are officially part of the Daily Shot Of Coffee supporters.

Community Coffee promises Louisiana’s most distinctive coffee, made up of 100% Arabica beans selected by the founding family, the Saurage’s. They describe their coffee as “a perfected a full-bodied yet smooth flavor that reflects the extraordinary culinary traditions of Louisiana.” Community Coffee is served in some of the best New Orleans restaurants and is drank homes across the South.

They are the largest family-owned retail coffee brand in the US. Their Company started as a small country store in Baton Rouge, where more than 90 years ago, founder Henry Norman “Cap” Saurage brewed his coffee. The coffee became so popular that he named it “Community” in honor of his loyal friends and customers. Cap eventually turned his attention away from the grocery store and devoted all of his time and energy to making great coffee.

Today, Community Coffee Company is so much a part of people’s lives and spans so many generations that it has been dubbed the State Coffee of Louisiana.

If you haven’t tried their coffee, try Community Coffee out for yourself and see what you think. If you have tried it, and I know more than a few Community Coffee fans are regular readers, what are you favorites from Community Coffee?

I am a Community Coffee aficionado. It is my “go to” brew most of the time. I have had some “fancy coffees” that I have really liked but Community Coffee is number one with me. I prefer the dark roast and the Holiday Jazz Medium Dark Blend. The New Orleans Blend of coffee with chicory is always great for Cafe au Lait.

Community Coffee has great prices and the coffee is world class. I love the stuff.

You’re right on, they always have a good selection of coffees. It’s really hard to go wrong with them.

Community Coffee is one of my all time favorites from back home. I love the dark roast and the between roasts.

I’m beginning to wonder if between roasts is a New Orleans thing?

maybe i’m a bit far North to see this brand Mike.
but i’ll ask the owners and proprietors of the
stores where fine coffee is sold and see if
they have heard of it.

Howard, I’m a northener who now lives in the south and I just recently saw their coffee in a store. You can order it on line and I agree with Ardee-ann about their customer service. When a mistake was made with one of our orders they corrected it asap. I take every opportunity to introduce this coffee to my friends. It’s good. We like the Evageline Blend the best.

Congratulations on the growth and success of the website Mike!

We were introduced to Community Coffee about a year ago. I had never heard of it and friend who is originally from Mississippi gave me some to try. We liked it and have tried a lot of their coffees. Our favorite is the Evangeline Blend (we’ll be posting a review of this soon). We like French Quarter Fusion too. We also like their dark roast ground coffee as a regular back up for when we don’t have any whole bean coffees.

Thank you very much Bill & Kim! I couldn’t have done it without the help of you guys and the other writers.

I think I’ve had the Evangeline Blend, but my favorite was the Founder’s Blend.
