Fancy Whole Bean From Torke Coffee Roasting Company

The Drink: Fancy Whole Bean From Torke Coffee Roasting Company
Type: Whole Bean
Overall Rating: 3.5 Out Of 5 Coffee Mugs

When I think Wisconsin, I think cheese, brats and people wearing cheese on their heads. Torke Coffee Roasting Company is something to add to the list.

Torke is a company based out of my favorite city, Sheboygan ( \shi-?bo?i-g?n\ ). Just say it a couple times and you’ll love it too. Torke has been roasting coffee for consumers, restaurants and other local establishments since 1941.

Fancy Whole Bean is their the flagship premium restaurant blend, also known as Classic World Wide. I like Classic World Wide more than Fancy Whole Bean, but they didn’t ask my opinion when they were choosing a name to go on to the bag.

Of course, I wasn’t going to let the name distract me for long before I opened up the bag and brewed the coffee in my French Press.

This coffee greeted my nose with a pleasant, relaxing chocolate aroma. It was light flavor on the front end and became more like a dark chocolate on the tail end. Mixed in was a light nutty scent.

Before I even had time to analyze the taste, I noticed it’s heavy body that practically weighed down my tongue.

When I got past the weight of the body, I noticed that this coffee had a delicious nutty medium-dark roast flavor. I picked up hints of chocolate.

The coffee wasn’t loaded with flavor, but it turned out to be a good, standard coffee. It’s very drinkable, perfect for an every day coffee, plus it’s only $5.99 for 14 ounces. I haven’t seen anything that can beat that price for a while.

I’m not ready to say the greatest thing to ever come out of Wisconsin was the coffee, but overall, this coffee earned an above average rating of 3.5 on the Daily Shot Of Coffee scale.

What about you? Have you ever had coffee from Wisconsin?

I was surprised to learn that the coffee was on the darker and heavier side. From my experience, Wisconsin coffee has always been on the lighter and weaker side of the spectrum. I will have to look for this coffee the next time I visit!

truckers from Wisconsin i’ve met seem to like
a ‘strong’ cup… just dark or light isn’t their objective
    ….when on the road.

i haven’t had a coffee from the state but
they sure know how to wear their cheese.
and a fair number of them contribute to
great creameries. those of us who like
some 1/2and1/2 with our coffee give a
high5 to those hard working cows.
