These are all seriously good machines! Simple to operate. Espresso function is the real plus in making real espresso based drinks. There are 3 wonderful espresso capsule types and several dark/medium/ light roast coffee capsules, some excellent basic teas, along with a few flavored and decafs. (And honestly, who needs all those gimmecky flavored pods anyway?)

Kaldi vs. Americano model:
Bought the CBTL about 7 months ago over the Keurig. I liked the fact that the espresso function uses the higher pressure to process and the strength of the coffees taste better. I found Keurig to be a bit watered down. Let me say this though -- first I purchased the Kaldi in the CBTL store. I want to say it was close to $170 or $180 with tax. I did not like this machine because it only has three settings and as many other have mentioned, the cup holder placement is too short! My friends had one they purchased from the Bed Bath and Beyond store (Americano Model), and that is the one I really wanted. CBTL was great about allowing me to return the Kaldi machine to their store, then I went to BBB and bought the Americano machine (using their montly 20% off coupon) and it is not only a better machine (in my opinion) but $30-$40 cheaper as well! For some reason, CBTL stores do not seem to carry the Americano model machine? Main point is do your research on the various models of the CBTL format. There are differing designs and if the larger size of the Americano is not a deal breaker, I'd highly recommend going that route. Also the CBTL milk frother is awesome!

IT DOESN'T WORK! I bought this in Dec. 2011 and kept it new in box. Aug. 04, 2012, Took it out this morning to make sure I knew how it works, but when I did what the instructions said, It just keeps blinking and no water fills up. I don't believe I'm doing wrong but I wanted to take this on our vacation Aug. 05, 2012. Now it looks like I"ll be out of coffee in the mornings. NOT HAPPY!

LOL, I also buy whole fresh roasted beans where-ever I go when traveling over seas and here in the states too. Can't beat grinding your own beans and using a good coffee pot. But I still have to say, out of all the single serves, and I've had several, for taste I really think CBTL is the best. I'm really liking quite a few of their coffees and love some of the espressos ; )

Yes, you can make your brews hotter on only the Contata and Kaldi models of brewers. I don't have the instructions onhand right now, but if you go to the singleserve forum and put in a search, the directions are posted ; )
