I think it’s pretty wild that Starbucks is expanding that local concept, I also really like the idea of a different name as well.

Instead of just going with the different look only, going with various names keeps the concept original.

I’ve been following the Yrgacheffe thing since it’s my long-time favorite coffee of all time. Essentially, they’re trying to make Yrgacheffe a brand just like Kona, Colombian and Jamaican Blue Mountain are brands – by raising the standards of coffee that is sold as Yrgacheffe, and setting restrictions on what can be called Yrgacheffe. Of course, the hope is that by associating the name with a higher standard of quality, they can command a premium price for Yrgacheffe coffee. I know that I’m willing to pay more for it!

As far as Starbucks goes, I see their fake neighborhood stores as being similar to fake distressed jeans and fake shabby chic furniture…
