Seattle’s Best Coffee’s not the first new logo to catch flak
Seattle’s best blood bank?
Have you seen the new Seattle’s Best Coffee logo? It turns out that I’m not the only one that thinks it looks like it would be better for a blood bank, but I’ve seen a lot worse than that.

would never have thought of sugar on
a pizza. that does sound interesting along
with some ground (assume here ‘excellent’ coffee).
the wife suggests we try them on -1-
slice before committing whole heartedly
to the full coffee/sugar/pizza monty.
I think that’s a good suggestion! I’ll be sure to let you guys know how it goes!
Regarding the Seattle’s Best re-brand article:
The public rarely supports a re-brand. Ever. There is a lot that goes into the process and it takes time for a new brand to develop the recognition and value that established brands have (and that people don’t question). But with the accessibility of the internet it seems like an outcry when a couple hundred forum dissenters, anonymously bash a logo with very little context.
Could you imagine if Apple went through it’s branding process today? People would tear it apart, “What does an Apple have to do with computers?” Or even Starbucks! That’s a fairly universally accepted logo, but that’s because it was developed without a public spotlight on it. It’s always been that way.
Designers aren’t just computer technicians who can draw in Photoshop. They shape companies, tell stories, and develop passionate relationships between consumers and products. I think the as the brand develops and people begin to see it out in the world, they will begin to see it with new perspective.
.-= BWJ´s last blog ..Dali and Picasso inspired coffee =-.
That’s a really good perspective. I never really thought about it like that before.
