Fresh Brews: Coffee Tasting, Retired Coffee Makers And More!
Over the past few weeks, maybe even months things have been really hectic at the Daily Shot Of Kitchen. My day job has been keeping me away way too much and I’m finally starting to get back into a regular blog posting routine. No promises yet, but it does seem like things are settling down.
Anyways, I was digging through my Google Reader, which is what I use to keep track of all of my favorite coffee blogs and decided to share with you some of my favorite blog posts that I’ve come across recently…
The CaffiNation Podcast: Dead Coffee Maker
Pzul unforutantely had a loss in his family. We’ve all been there, so take a minute to head over there and share your condolences with him.
Shot Zombies: Craft Coffee Delivers Tasting Boxes by Subscription
Like coffee? Want to taste test a whole lot of it? Now you can with this service from Craft Coffee. Each month subscribers receive a box containing samples from three different roasters. Sounds pretty delicious to me.
The Coffee Adventures: The Rising Coffee Prices And Its Impact
Over at The Coffee Adventures, Jamie is dissecting the ever increasing prices of coffee. No one likes paying more for coffee, but if that meant more for the coffee farmers I wouldn’t mind so much. However, I have a feeling that even if we’re paying more for a pound of coffee, not much of that is making it’s way back to the countries of origin.
Daily Demitasse: I Spy…Cafe’ Dreams Coming True
Huge congrats go out to Jennifer over at Daily Demintasse. She’s the manager at brand new coffee shop in the works in Raleigh, NC. I have a feeling that is going to be one awesome coffee shop with her behind it.

The Coffee Adventures: The Rising Coffee Prices And Its Impact
by Jamie brought to mind the bulk of the costs of
coffee aren’t coffee related but transport, and the
delivery chain part of getting it from where it’s grown
to our cups.
my first suggestion is to have coffee lovers buy
green beans and roast their own.
my 2nd suggestion is for all of us to start growing
coffee in our homes or gardens, or in greenhouses.
i know all the blah blah it’s not going to work etc.
just make a difference and DO IT.
btw thanks Jamie!
I wish I could grow coffee here. I know of people that grow a plant in their office or yard, but because of the climate it doesn’t reach it’s full potential.
However, roasting my own coffee seems like a lot more realistic solution for myself. On my list of things to try, along with about a hundred other things.
i know Mike…. too much on the list.
hey the Shot Zombies name is very sweet.
i wish i’d thought of it myself.
this goes into my idea (well maybe not my idea)
of sending customers a few small tastes of
various coffees each month.
http://craftcoffee.com/ does this but i think a
12 ounce size is overtheboards.
how about 7 days worth of different 2 ounce packs?
that’s more my try it you may like it style.
what if i don’t crave a particular bean/roast?
what to do with the 10 ounces left over?
i hope people check out the interesting drinks

I agree, I think that 7 days of different 2 ounce packages would be better for myself.
I was checking out that article too. I spend a lot of time keeping up with that blog.
