Mona Lisa Made Out Of Coffee

The Mona Lisa Of Coffee Art
I’ve seen this on a few blogs now, but I thought it was so amazing that I had to post it anyways. It’s a a 20 feet by 13 feet portrait of the Mona Lisa and was made with 3,604 cups of coffee. It seems like a case of coffee abuse to me, all of that coffee, loaded with caffeine, was just simple wasted in the name of art.

Woman arrested after using coffee cup as a weapon
I love my coffee cups too much, to use them as a weapon, but one woman used a poor, defenseless coffee cup to beat her boyfriend. The police arrested the woman and her charges included battery with a dangerous weapon.

The coffee controversy: Decoded
As long as someone isn’t hitting you with a mug full of coffee, coffee can actually be good for you. This article looks into debunking some coffee related health myths: No, coffee doesn’t cause heart attacks, but it does help fight Parkinson’s and Diabetes.

Bikini Coffee ShopBikini-clad baristas fill cups at Torrance coffeehouse
LA coffee shop’s bare ambition to buck economic downturn with bikini-clad waitresses
One coffee shop owner has found away to improve business and to fight back against the big chains like Starbucks, have the baristas wear only bikinis at work. The coffee shop isn’t anywhere near the beach, but that doesn’t stop the employees from wearing bikini and it seems to be improving business, there’s even a plan to franchise it to the United Kingdom. This coffee shop replaced a more traditional one that went out of business in the same location.

No More Perks: Coffee Shops Pull the Plug on Laptop Users
Many coffee shop owners are banning or limiting the use of laptops in their stores. They’re saying that the laptop users are abusing the free wifi, buying only a minimal amount of coffee, if any at all. They say the laptop users are taking up space that could be used by  paying customers. Even as an avid laptop user, I have to agree with them, if you’re not a paying customer, you shouldn’t be stealing their wifi and taking up space in their store. Of course, they better be careful not to chase out the paying customers at the same time.

Coffee shop laptop etiquette
If you don’t want the dirty looks from the coffee shop owners and the other patrons, here’s a quick guide to the do’s and do not’s of using a laptop in a coffee shop.

Starbucks barista gives advice to CEO, Howard Schultz
One Starbucks barista from Virgina had some advice for the the CEO of the largest coffee chain in the world. Her advice was to have more employees working the floor, a register dedicated to just drip in the morning, get rid of the merchandise they sell, use television advertising and she even has some questions about the undercover 15th Ave Coffee And Tea Starbucks. As a semi-regular customer of Starbucks, I think she’s right on the money.

No-electricity coffee maker takes patience
If you’re looking for coffee right now, The Hour Glass Coffee Maker isn’t for you. However, it doesn’t use any electricity and it cuts down on the acid that causes stomach problems in some people. It looks and sounds interesting, something I’m going to put on my must try list.

From the Land of Kona, a New Brew
Hawaii is known for their Kona coffee, one of the rarest, most expensive coffees in the world, but now there’s something else in the works – tea. I’m not a big tea drinker, but I would at least like to try it. Adding it to my must try list also.

Yeh, that Mona Lisa is incredible. The way that they were able to judge the precise amount of milk to put in each one is unbelievable!

Thanks – Fun Evil

weekly roast – I’m sure it was a lot of time, practice and lots of coffee.

Ben – I really am impressed with the amount of effort it must have taken to make that.

marye – I want to get it, but I really don’t think I need another way to make coffee.
