Starbucks Peppermint Mocha

This week’s round up covers some important topics like the Starbucks Peppermint Mocha, a very interesting coffee stain, where you can buy your next cup of Seattle’s Best and some other things that you’re going to want to read.

Coffee Nate Episode 21: How Much Coffee Should I Use?
In this video, Nate answers this very important question. He covers how much coffee should be used, whether you’re using stuff that’s pre-ground or grinding your own beans. Really informative stuff! I’ll admit that I even learned a thing or two.

Coffee Nate CoffeeNate #20: LIVE! … In the Trenches
You can never get too much Coffee Nate. This episode includes Nate’s presentation at IgniteSault. An ignite talk is where presenters give a 5 minute talk about a passion of theirs, Nate of course talked about coffee. Due to some technical difficulties, it’s a little rough around the edges, but he definitely get’s his point across.

Michael Allen Smith found something very interesting at the bottom of his espresso cup last week.

Kettle And Cup Just Drink the Darn Stuff!
Marye Audet has this crazy notion we should stop trying to analyze and rate coffees, instead focus on enjoying the flavors, the atmosphere and the people we’re with. You know, she might just be on to something.

The Chow 13
Chow.com, a food and restaurant magazine put together a list of the 13 of the most intriguing food influences in the food world. This year’s winners represent a wide range of subcultures, including coffee connoisseur and Stumptown Coffee Roasters founder Duane Sorenson.

3 Holiday Beverages + One More on the Way!
My favorite holiday drink from Starbucks is back – the peppermint mocha. I’m pretty sure they should have this one year round. Also, they’ll be coming out with a new holiday drink. They’re keeping it a secret and I’ll admit that I’m pretty curious right now.

Starbucks to put Seattle’s Best Coffee in 9,000 U.S. Subway shops by year-end, Schultz says
When I think good coffee, I definitely think Subway…or not. To keep up with the Jones’s, I mean McDonald’s, Starbucks is partnering to put Seattle’s Best Coffee in their Sandwich shops. I can think of crazier ideas, I’ve had good Seattle’s Best coffee in the past, maybe…just maybe I’ll stop by Subway to get my coffee.

Starbucks to change loyalty card program
Starbucks is changing their rewards program to benefit frequent customers a little bit more. It sounds like a must have if you frequent Starbucks a lot. So, the question is…do you have a Starbucks Rewards Card?

Thanks for the coffee round up. Peppermint is a favorite wintertime flavor for me! I love a Starbucks Peppermint hot chocolate on a cold December day. As to the changes to the rewards, wow, that is a hot topic. I could write a book! That has been my busiest blog topic ever – http://www.starbucksmelody.com/?p=425

Wow…didn’t know Starbucks owned Seattle’s Best now, nor did I know about their connection to Subway…weird. I’m not a big Seattle’s Best fan.

I am extremely excited about this new Holiday Drink though!!! I looooove me some Peppermint mocha! I think I might have to run out and get one now actually hahaha…

I currently do not have their Gold rewards program, so I’m really liking the new loyalty program they’re instituting if you have a registered Starbucks card (hehehe I have 2). Guess I’ll be stopping by more often, especially after Christmas when the new program goes into effect :)

Sooooo glad CoffeeNate answered that question – I think I sent that one in to him lol.

question as in how much beans to use to get a specific amount for grinding.

Cool, I wasn’t one hundred percent sure what the answer was for grinding, so thanks for asking Nate.

I love the flavor of peppermint. It somehow is a very winter-time flavor to me. Peppermint hot chocolate in December! Yum!

As to the new Starbucks rewards, that really is the hot topic these days! Here is an official Starbucks blog entry on it. Notice the comments.

I knew i should have stopped yesterday morning before a day of work at my future mother-in-law’s. I know where I am going tomorrow morning before arriving at the DMV – Starbucks for a Peppermint Mocha! Love ‘em!

Peppermint Mocha can even make the DMV bearable.

We have a regular who comes in for her Creme de Menthe Mocha daily. I tried it a few weeks ago and I am hooked. It is perfect when I crave a sweet drink instead of a good fresh brew. We make them iced in the summer & hot in the winter! Gingerbread Latte is also a customer fave.
