Mercedes-Benz serves up virtual coffee
Ok, so it doesn’t actually make coffee, but the Mercedes Benz S550 has a feature to determine if a driver is tired and in need of a coffee break. A coffee cup icon will actually appear on the speedometer if it’s time to take a break. Now, I know what my next car is going to be, I just have to figure out a way to afford it.
Is Coffee Bad for You? Actually, Drinking Coffee May Be Good for You
Coffee and caffeine get a lot of bad press, but this in-depth story points out the reasons why coffee is good for you. Although, they do keep mentioning this thing called moderation, I’m not sure what that means.
Coffee could be newest breath mint
Not only is coffee good for you, accord to a new scientific study, it could be used to make your breath smell better.
Seeking the Best Coffee in a Popularity Contest
Remember that survey by Zagat that showed Starbucks coffee was the top rated coffee chain? Yeah, it was little more than a popularity contest based on name recognition, more than anything else.
Coffee wars: Taste test of Starbucks, McDonald’s, 7-Eleven and Dunkin’ Donuts coffee products
A local Tampa taste testing of some of the drinks involved in the “coffee wars.” I agree with most of the results, except for the rating of McDonald’s Iced Mocha better than the Starbucks version. I like the Mickey D’s version but it doesn’t even compare.
Dunkin’ Run Automates Your Coffee Breaks on the Web and iPhone
If you have an iPhone, you can now get an app that will help you organize the office’s runs to Dunkin Donuts. It’s free, so I really can’t complain about it, but as someone who has a Black Berry and doesn’t go to Dunkin Donuts to that often, I think it’s pretty useless. I’d rather have something that works for just about any food or coffee runs, not just Dunkin Donuts, because I think it’s a great idea, just does nothing to help me.
How much caffeine is in my coffee?
I’ve noticed a lot of people searching for how much caffeine is in specific drinks, have ended up at Daily Shot Of Coffee. This article outlines the basics of how much is a handful of drinks and foods. I’m still looking for a caffeine testing kit so that I can do my own testing, but I hope this story helps out until then.
Learn the lingo of coffee tasting
A brief, but informative review of some of the verbiage of tasting coffee. I’ll admit that I may have learned a thing or two.
Brew the perfect coffee, just like Juan Valdez
A quick guide to making the perfect cup of coffee. I’m sure a lot of this is old news for many people, but there’s definitely a few tips and tricks that could be useful. Except for their last tip, a suggestion to store coffee in the freezer. They don’t mention how that can ruin perfectly good coffee, if it isn’t done right.
Taste test: Coffee ice cream
However, it is definitely safe to keep coffee flavored ice cream in your freezer. Here’s the results from taste testing of some of the most popular brands. Starbucks came out on top.
