I seem to be indulging my sweet tooth a lot lately. This time it’s with German Chocolate Cake from Barnie’s Coffee And Tea.

It’s the second time I’ve tried something from Barnie’s. The first was from an actual Barnie’s store when I stopped there for an Iced Mocha on a hot day this summer. I enjoyed the Mocha, liked the atmosphere of the store and couldn’t wait to try this one.

Barnie’s hit the chocolate cake aroma perfectly. That with a mix of coconut and hazelnut made it smell almost like there was a cake in front of me instead of coffee. It wasn’t an overpowering smell, just enough to perk up my sense of smell.

The taste wasn’t overwhelming either. The chocolate was balanced out with a well defined nutty taste and some hazelnut.

It had a smooth feel until I got to the after taste. There I was met with a slight bitterness. Nothing really major to complain about. Also, in the after taste, it became more chocolate, like I had just put a piece of cake into my mouth.

My only real complaint is that I wish that it was a little bit more sweet. Maybe I just am on a sweet tooth kick, but I think with just a little bit more, it could’ve been one of the better flavored coffees that I’ve had recently.

Overall a good flavored coffee with 3.5 out of five rating. Barnie’s Coffee And Tea is another company that I’m looking forward to try more from soon.
