Hazelnut & Crème From JarBee Coffee Review

The Drink: Hazelnut & Crème From JarBee Coffee
Type: Ground Flavored Coffee
Overall Rating: 3.25 Out Of 5 Coffee Mugs

Last, but not least, I have a flavored coffee called Hazelnut & Creme from JarBee Coffee. They’ve sent me a number of samples of mouth watering coffees, but my favorites have been their flavored coffees.

The sweet, rich, nutty flavor of our Hazelnut & Crème coffee creates an experience second to none! This combination of slow roasted hazelnuts and the flavor of fresh crème blended with our roast-to-order Colombian beans is perfect as a breakfast coffee, middle of the day pick-me-up or an after-dinner dessert. It’s so good, it may just become your favorite new indulgence.

The sample that they sent me for review was pre-ground so I brewed it in the drip coffee maker. Just brewing my kitchen, I could tell that it had a strong aroma that wasn’t for the weak at heart, AKA people who don’t like flavored coffee.

The aroma coming from my cup had a nutty flavor in the middle with a sweet crème flavor around the edges. It was almost like I had a dessert in my coffee mug.

Hazelnut & Crème started off with a medium roast flavor on the tip of my tongue. The overall taste was dominated by a nutty flavor with crème and sweet flavors around it.

For those that are curious, the drip coffee maker produced a medium body.

A half pound bag of Hazlenut & Crème is on sale at the JarBee Coffee website for $6.95. It’s normally $11.99. At that price, it’s hard to pass up trying.

Hazelnut & Crème scored a slightly above average 3.25 on the Daily Shot Of Coffee scale. It’s drinkable, but I’ve had better coffees that were more full of flavor than this one. If I had to pick one JarBee flavored offering, I’d go with the White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle.

Gotta run now, have to go find some dessert now.

Fine Print.

weak of heart…that’s me in a coffee spoon.

anyhow. i think the primary reason i really
an not a flavored coffee fan is that it tends
to be less than transparent as to what they
(coffee blenders etc) actually use to give the flavor
    to their beans or grind.

‘…This combination of slow roasted hazelnuts and the flavor of fresh crème blended with our roast-to-order Colombian beans …’
    what is it?
is it crème or the flavor of crème?
if i want crème i’ll pour some in and get my
    flavor that way.

to be fair, JarBee did send me a pretty nice sample
(as in free sample) of one of their coffees back a few months ago
when a particularly dreary snow day had me by the shorts.
( it was their Colombian Supremo)

I used to love flavored coffees, but when i discovered the best flavors came naturally, it changed the whole ball game for me.

Thanks for the review. I must admit, I’m like Howard in that I like simple, plain, black coffee. Now, my girlfriend is another matter. She LOVES the flavored coffees, especially the hazelnut. This sounds like one for me to buy for her.

I am glad to hear about a flavored coffee that actually “has” flavor. Most of the ones I have tried are very lacking in the flavor department. I will have to try this brand. I will look for a vanilla or French vanilla. Those are my favorite flavors. I think that Hazelnut has been overdone but hey, that’s just me.

    Thanks for the review!

I would definitely check out JarBee for flavored coffee. And I agree, Hazelnut is way over done in the flavored coffee world.
