Honoring Veterans Via Your Cup Of Coffee
I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of those that have served our country in the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines and Navy. My words aren’t enough, so here are a handful of coffee companies that support our veterans.
BaristaOnDutY (BODY)
BaristaOnDutY is a United States Marine Corps veteran and pan roasts (artisan hand crafted coffee) some amazing coffee. Some of my favorites include his Ethiopian Yirgacheffe and Caphe Agenda.
Coffee Beanery
Coffee Beaney sends coffee to the troops through Operation Care Package every year. Right now you can donate a pound of coffee to the troops for $5 and they will match it.
Community Coffee
Community Coffee has the Military Match Program, customers of Community Coffee Company have helped send thousands of pounds of coffee to troops abroad since the program began in 2005, with more coffee on its way to APO or FPO addresses all the time. The Military Match program provides an opportunity for friends and family to purchase four bags of traditional Red Bag Community ground roast coffee, and in turn the company will match the order with four bags free.
Green Beans Coffee
Green Beans Coffee operates cafes serving military personnel in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Qatar, Djibouti, Africa and domestically at military bases across North America. A percentage of every sale is donated to charities like TAPS and Soldiers Angels that strive to improve the life for disabled armed services members, military families and their children. Plus, they have a program where you can directly buy coffee for soldiers serving overseas called Cup Of Joe For A Joe. You can give a hot cup of coffee to a solider for as little as two bucks.
Holy Joe’s Cafe
Holy Joe’s Cafe is a national effort of First Congregational Church of Wallingford, CT. They are sending free coffee to deployed chaplains in support of their ministry to our troops.
Newhall Coffee Roasting Company
Newhall Coffee has the Patriot Blend, purchase a bag they’ll send free coffee to an active duty military man or woman.
Rogers Gourmet Coffee
Rogers Gourmet Coffee offer free shipping for all orders to all military APO/FPO addresses. Through the end of 2009, each order will be shipped with an additional bag (12oz) of coffee for troops to share with their friends.
I know there’s more out there, so if you know anymore please mention them in the comments below. Thanks!
