Iced Coffee For Hot Summer Days

Iced CoffeeIt’s starting to get really hot outside. If you live in Florida like me, you’ve probably already been using your air conditioning on a regular basis for a couple of months. I’ve even heard from my friends in New York that they were finally able to exchange their winter jackets for shorts a couple of days this month.

So what does that mean? It’s time for iced coffee!

Nothing beats homemade iced coffee, I love it from Starbucks, I can tolerate a cup from McDonald’s, but I don’t know if anything beats  iced coffee that I make myself. I don’t have to leave the house, I can make it however you want and it’s a lot easier on the wallet.

How To Make Your Own Homemade Iced Coffee:

I start in the morning by using extra my coffee to make ice cubes. I use coffee ice cubes because I don’t have to worry about the drink becoming watered down as the ice melts later on.

Then in the afternoon when it’s time to make another pot, I pour some of it into a large cup, filling it about 3/4 full. While it’s still warm, I add sugar. You could add it later, but the sugar dissolves best when it’s hot. Then, I put the cup of coffee in the fridge and let it cool down.

You can drink it then or you can also add your own twist. You an leave room for:

  • Flavored coffee syrups or even chocolate syrup
  • Ice Cream
  • Cinamon
  • Bailey’s Irish Cream

Or anything else you want to try.

If you really get motivated, you can put in the blender and make your own homemade version of a frappuccino.

Do you have any variations that you like? I have a long, hot summer ahead and I’d love to hear how you make iced coffee.

Ahh Mike thank you so much for this ice coffee recipe, I am constantly craving ice coffee however no one delivers and I am usually too lazy to go and get it.

I always thought it would be a lot more complicated to make, but then I started to get some ideas from other blogs and some other people, so I decided to try it myself. It turns out that it was actually pretty easy.
