Jura Cafe Crème Review

The Drink: Jura Cafe Crème
Type: Whole Bean Blend
Overall Rating: 3.5 Out Of 5 Coffee Cups

Jura makes the espresso makers of my dreams, but they also roast coffee. Today I tried their Cafe Crème.

The Cafe Crème is a light roast, made up of 100% Arabica beans from Guatemala, Brazil, Costa Rica, the Caribbean and India. Bonus points for including on the package the origins of the coffee, too many blends seem to be hidden by mystery.

The aroma was influenced by the Guatemalan and the Costa Rican beans. It had a warm, butty taste with hints of oranges or some citrus fruit.

It was definitely not a light roast with wine-like taste. In fact, it was much more of a serious coffee taste than I was expecting. It was still full of flavors like a light roast, but had hints of a dark roast too. The main flavor that I picked out was a bold Brazilian nutty taste.

It was very smooth and very drinkable. The cups of this coffee just seemed to keep disappearing today.

Cafe Crème wasn’t what I was expecting with a light roast, but I’m contributing that to fact that it’s a European coffee and there does seem to be a tendency that they like their coffees darker. Either way, I really enjoyed this coffee and would recommend it to someone who wants a serious coffee taste, without a dark roast overwhelming the flavor.

They recommend trying it with cream or in lattes. Both get the approval of Daily Shot Of Coffee, but I really don’t see the need to hide the taste of this coffee with milk.

Overall, a good every day kind of coffee. An easy 3.5 out of 5 on the Daily Shot Of Coffee scale.

For the record, Jura sent me this coffee. I didn’t pay for it, they didn’t even ask me to review it. It was just a gift that they sent me after I posted their holiday recipes. A gift that I didn’t ask for, but of course I’ll never turn down coffee!
