King David Coffee Roasters – Wholesale To The Public?

When a company is advertising wholesale prices to the public, whether it’s televisions, cars or coffee, I tend to be a little bit skeptical. King David Coffee Roasters is one of those coffee companies, selling all of their coffee for just $7.49 for 16 ounce bag of coffee. The price is just too good to be true, but they were more than willing to send me samples of some of their most popular light and medium roasts to prove me wrong.

The Drink: King David Costa Rica Tarrazu
Type: Light Roast Whole Bean
Overall Rating: 3.5 Out Of 5 Coffee Mugs

The King David Costa Rica Tarrazu had an interesting aroma with hints of chocolate, grapefruit and maybe a little bit of pine tree that reminded me of the upcoming holiday season.

The taste was smooth with a chocolate flavor and hints of grapefruit around the edges. I know chocolate and grapefruit doesn’t sound like a great combination, but it tasted delicious here.

Overall the Costa Rica Tarrazu from Kind David Coffee Roasters was a flavorful coffee that I enjoyed drinking and earned an above average 3.5 on the Daily Shot Of Coffee scale.

The Drink: Kind David Tanzania Peaberry
Type: Light Roast Whole Bean
Overall Rating: Four Out Of Five Coffee Mugs

These Peaberry coffee beans come all the way from Mount Kilimanjaro, the fourth tallest mountain the world known more the mountain climbing than the coffee grown, but personally I’d rather drink the coffee then climb the mountain any day.

The Tanzania Peaberry had a fruity-winelike aroma with a sweetness that reminded me of candy.

The taste was just as smooth with a strawberry flavor on the front of the sip and a deep red wine flavor towards the middle. The after taste was like a fruit bomb had gone off, it was packed with flavor. I also picked up on some hints of chocolate.

I could drink a lot more of the Tanzania Peaberry and it earned a sold four on the Daily Shot Of Coffee scale. If you like lighter coffees that are loaded with flavors, add this to your must try list.

The Drink: King David Papua New Guinea
Type: Medium Roast Whole Bean
Overall Rating: 3.5 Out Of 5 Coffee Mugs

The aroma of Papua New Guinea was a medium roast, nutty flavor with a sweetness to it that invited me closer.

The coffee had a full body and tasted stronger than I expected. However, it wasn’t too strong and I liked the way the strong flavor mixed with a dark red wine flavor that I could taste later in the sip.

I thought the Papua New Guinea from King David Coffee Roasters was good, but after the Tanzania Peaberry, it tasted just average. It earned an above average 3.5 and I’d have no problem recommending it to someone looking for a flavorful medium roast.

The Drink: King David Guatemala Fraijanes
Type: Medium Roast Whole Bean
Overall Rating: 3.25 Out Of 5 Coffee Mugs

The Guatemala Fraijanes had an aroma that reminded me of my grandmother’s kitchen. She loved grapefruit and this coffee had a hints of it in the aroma that mixed with a spiciness around the edges.

The taste was mainly an earthy/herb taste with hints of spice like seasoned salt and a little bit of dark red wine in the after taste.

I don’t want to call this coffee average, but compared to the others that I was tasting from King David Coffee Roasters, it didn’t stand out. It earned a slightly above average rating of 3.25 on the Daily Shot Of Coffee scale.

The Drink: King David Colombia Peaberry
Type: Light Roast Whole Bean
Overall Rating: 3.75 Out Of 5 Coffee Mugs

The Colombia Peaberry had a darker nutty aroma than the others and just a hint of cherry that gave me a sneak preview to what I was about to taste.

The taste was also darker than the rest, but there was a fruit explosion all around it. It was like a syrup flavor coating my tongue.

I couldn’t put this coffee down until my cup was empty. It earned a 3.75 on the Daily Shot Of Coffee scale.

I’ll admit that I was proved wrong here. After tasting these coffees from King David Coffee Roasters, I would have no problem recommending them to anyone looking for quality coffee at an affordable price. Sometimes I like to be proved wrong when it involves tasting some delicious coffees.

Fine Print.
