Merry Christmas to you too! How did they (or was it you?) make the cinnamon bells? Some kind of confectioner’s stencil or just artistic skill?

I think they call it latte etching. I’m sure there’s people that could explain it a lot better, but it’s more art than anything else. They carefully pour milk or chocolate to do the designs.

    Mike and everyone,
What a nice end of year this has been joining all of you here. So much knowledge about the great coffee bean and how best to use it. I send Happy New Years greetings to all of you. I was naughty and didn’t get to send the same before Christmas so please excuse me. Today bought a Black and Decker burr grinder used it tonight nice little machine. I broke my old grinder trying to use it for cinnamon sticks. Well, now it’s reserved just for spices. I learned my lesson. We are now drinking Ethiopian Harrar coffee what a nice smooth taste. A nice nightcap on a cold Florida night. Just a couple days before New Years eve so get yourself a designated driver if you are drinking your coffee black and strong, so you won’t shake at the wheel! See ya in 2010!

Belated Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you too! Thanks for stopping by in 2009 and I look forward to seeing you in 2010.

I’ve had my eye on a burr grinder from Black And Decker. What’s your opinion on them?

I have a serious weakness for Ethiopian Harrars, I think they’re amazing coffees with lots of flavor.

    Hi Mike,
We have used the burr grinder by Black and Decker twice so far. It is small enough to fit along the kitchen counter and not be a problem that way. Now days the only complaint I have are the plastic parts but that is to be expected. I paid $29.99 at Wal-mart figured they would have the best deal. Did not plan on buying it when I did was kind of a last minute impulse buy but I’m glad I got it. When I registered it on line at B & D noticed Kohl’s dept. store also sells it and they give discounts in their mailings. So if I did my homework first I might have saved a few. I’m still happy with my choice. Now on with the grinding show! Happy New Year to you and yours…and to everyone in 2010. On New Years eve all I want is something yummy coffee based to get the year started on the right sip. CHEERS!

    • Mike says:

Thanks for the info about the grinder and Kohls, $29.99 still isn’t a bad price though.

Happy New Years to you and your family and I’ll see you in 2010.
