The Drink: Mocha From Gano Cafe

I’m sipping on GanoCafe’s Mocha tonight. It’s the second coffee that I’ve tried from Healthy Coffee 411.
Last week, I a sampled their Tongkat Ali. As far as an instant healthy coffee, I gave it an average rating. The only thing I really didn’t like about it was the chemically after taste that stayed in my mouth for way too long.
I knew from the moment that I ripped open the bag, that I was going to like this one more. Instead of the herbal smell that greeted my nose last time, I smelled a more chocolate flavor.
After I added the hot water, my nose was greeted with a distinctive chocolate smell. It’s kind of chocolate smell that I like, similar to a thing of hot chocolate. There was a thin layer of the Ganoderma/Reishi Mushroom (check out the last article for more information/my opinion) aroma, but nothing compared to the other flavor.
The taste caught me by surprise. I was expecting something that tasted along the lines of hot chocolate, but it had a strong dark roast taste, mixed with a rich chocolate flavor. Both tasted very authentic. It had just a hint of the mushroom/herbal flavor mixed into it.
There was no lingering taste this time, which definitely improved it’s rating.
Obviously coffee purists aren’t going to like this coffee, but what are they doing drinking a mochas anyways? Anyways, this would be good for someone that’s looking for a healthy coffee alternative to their expensive and calorie loaded mocha from Starbucks or McDonalds.
This one earns a better than average score of 3.25 out of 5 compared to other instant and healthy coffees.

I agree the chemically aftertaste in many flavored coffees is the negative factor that always get me as well. It is good to hear that this one does not have that element. What is the best flavored coffee you have tried so far?
That’s a tough question, I coudn’t pick one flavored coffee if I had to!
