The Drink: N.O. Brew Storyville Mocha
Type: Flavored Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate In A Bottle
Overall Rating: 3.25 Out Of 5

Tonight, I’m staying warm with a mocha latte made with N.O. Brew’s Storyville Mocha. N.O. Brew is cold brewed coffee in concentrate form. Just add milk to make a latte or water to make coffee. Then you can either throw in ice cubes for iced coffee or heat it up for a hot drink. With temperatures hovering around 32 degrees in central Florida, I stuck with the heated version.

I enjoyed the Traditional flavor, it made for a great low cost alternative to buying a latte at a place like Starbucks. I generally love mocha flavored anything, so I couldn’t wait to twist off the cap on the Storyville Mocha.

I started with hot coffee, filling a third of the cup with the coffee concentrate and the remaining two thirds with water. The taste was drinkable, but it was like something was missing. The mocha flavor just wasn’t complete tasting.

From Christmas, I had some leftover peppermint creamer in the refrigerator. I added that and some sugar and it really brought out the flavor, enough where I declared it a “winner” out loud.

But my favorite version was the latte – one third concentrate and two thirds milk. It tasted better than some mochas that I’ve paid $5 for at coffee shops. However, I wouldn’t have complained if there was just a little bit mocha flavor in the concentrate, but then again I’m a chocolate addict.

All three versions had an authentic mocha flavor, that really made my nose happy.

Plus, it doesn’t hurt that for $9, they’re selling 64 ounce bottles of their concentrate that can make 26 drinks. That’s less than two Starbucks Mochas. I don’t know if it would replace my daily freshly brewed coffee or homemade espresso drinks, but the N.O. Brew so far is proving to be a great alternative for those mornings when I’m in a rush. If I worked in an office, I would definitely keep some in the fridge there.

Overall, the Storvyville Mocha is very drinkable. I liked the Traditional flavor a tad bit more, so the Mocha ends up with an above average rating of 3.25 out of 5.

For more info in general about the N.O. Brew: visit their website or check out my review of the Traditional.

In case the FTC is reading this, N.O. Brew provided me with a bottle of the Storvyille Mocha for review purposes. I didn’t guarantee them a positive review and no money was exchanged hands for my review.

I’m not sure what to think about this. Ideally sounds good, especially for office or traveling, etc. It’s probably not something I would buy. I love my fresh brew too much to indulge what would be deemed “inferior” unless dire circumstances warrant it. But…this might be good to cook with! You should try making your brownies with this!!! I know you were saying you wanted a more pronounced coffee flavor – I would use the same amount measure-wise that you normally do for brewed stuff, but since this concentrated you’ll get more bang for your buck.

I think that’s a great idea! I’m trying eat healthier for the new year, but testing the recipe out with the the NO Brew sounds like a delicious idea.

I think you’re right, it won’t replace regular coffee, but it definitely does serve a purpose. I love the ease and I think the taste is way better than you might expect.

Hi Mike,
Sounds like a great coffee product to have on hand. Here is a suggestion when you have something that is not up to par what you desire. Add some vanilla syrup either regular or sugar free to the mix for example Torani’s. Vanilla seems to be a great flavor additive that does not over power the mocha but gives it more flavor instead. Just as a pinch of salt does for savory dishes. I hope you are warm where you live this weekend here in north Florida is supposed to be a real deep chill. A great time to keep the coffee pots and mugs full.

Keeping the coffee pots running here overtime this weekend, just to stay warm!

I have some vanilla syrup here, I love throwing it into coffee drinks, but didn’t even think of trying it here.

Hope you stay warm and what’s hope Florida doesn’t see snow this time.
