Coffee is like my brain…I have left home a time or 2 without it, and those we the days I seemed to lock my keys in my car or send the wrong email to the wrong person (luckily, no harm was done). I just moved and I left my coffee maker behind and have been living off my friends coffee. So I am definitely in need of a coffee maker – this would be perfect!

Leaving the house without coffee is a dangerous and scary thought. I need that jolt in the morning to get me moving, so I can get my household of 4 moving. If mommy doesn’t have her coffee, things go really wrong; kids don’t get up, husbands burn holes through shirts, no one gets to school or work on time. Coffee makes my mornings run.

  3. Charles Wood says:

I would love to get a Mr. Coffee single machine

  4. Meg says:

Coffee makes me an easy person to deal with in the morning. Without coffee…not so much. I think just about everyone can tell when I haven’t had my morning cup. So I need it to be pleasant, haha!!

    Great giveaway!

  5. Amber Y says:

I can’t leave home without a coffee because it’s always so cold up here! Coffee helps ease the stress of the day so I’m not all crazy….though too much coffee also results in that crazy thing lol

  9. Yvonne H. says:

I would never leave home without coffee because I need it to be alert and get my day started. Its flavorful, warm and soothing. And I need that jolt of caffeine to help get me going in the morning.

  10. Lethea Benson says:

I would never leave home without my coffee because just like my car needs gas to run my brain could never even turn-over without my coffee =) Nobody wants to be around someone who’s brain-dead!

aha what a wonderful contest. coffee to the rescue.

i can’t say i ever was pulled into the ocean by a jetliner.
-> do they charge for this?
can’t say i was bumped into the penny filled reflecting pool.
-> did i remember my swim shorts?
can’t say i missed the cops surrounding me.
-> i’m not the bag man!
can’t say i have ever pitted my car at the quick lube shop.
-> the wash drive thru is challenging enough!

but i’ve been a nasty snarly slouch when i forget or
can’t get my java. we don’t want to go there.
i’d love to win this as i have a ton of K-cups and
need more gear to make them mine.
    peace with coffee.

  12. Meg says:

I basically need coffee in the morning to be a pleasant person, so it’s pretty crucial, haha! Thanks for another great giveaway!

  13. daria says:

The last time I left my home in New Orleans without coffee was when Hurricane Katrina struck. And the rest is history.

  14. Bill says:

I would like to win this for a “cup-el” reasons. First and foremost, I have stopped too many times to get a quick cup of coffee only to be teased by the aroma and disappointed by a weak, watered down taste.

  15. MoBarbq says:

I’d never leave home without coffee! I used to run a paper route and I got stuck in a ditch one snowy night. Was SO glad I had filled a big Thermos. It helped me make it until help arrived. Had to report my problem via text, voice would not connect on cell, but text would! Crazy night of ice and snow, saved by coffee.
I also tweeted this. Same ID on twitter, but I can’t figure out how to put a “status” link on here to show its posting.

  16. Mary C. says:

You definitely would not want to be around me in the morning if I haven’t had my daily shot of coffee. Too crabby!!!

  17. Anne Bender says:

I have a confession, sometimes I can’t drink coffee in the morning {the shame!}. BUT, my husband cannot go without his morning coffee lest you want to deal with his grumpiness all. day. long. This would be great for the mornings when someone {ahem} forgets to make the coffee the night before and a certain someone is running late.

  18. Donna says:

If I had this coffee maker, it might help me keep my job. When I get to work the coffee pot always has about two sips of coffee left in it and I am grumpy until I get another pot of coffee perked. I really can’t start working until I’ve had a cup of coffee. If I had this coffee maker, I could have a cup of coffee on the way to work and then I would be ready to go to work as soon as I arrive.

  19. Margot says:

A friend drove off with a vacuum tube from the drive-through bank teller and didn’t realize it for 45 minutes. I often skip coffee due to time constraints and am scared I’ll end up like him.

  20. Whittaker Dunn says:

As much as I would love to deny my love of (need for) coffee. I have to come clean. I work at a lumber yard to pay my college expenses. My usual routine is wake up at 6 and get to work by 7. Originally I would get a cup from home to go, and at work relied on the coffee they provided, but as costs were cut they stopped making anything remotely close to black coffee, more like a weak brown. So, I retaliated, and started bringing a small thermos from home. However I found that the 20 hot ounces went far too quickly, and I resorted to bringing the entire stainless steel pot from home. This proved effective, and I breezed through my days. Several weeks into this new routine I stumbled across a garage sale on my way home, and decided to take a look around. It was there that I found it. Gleaming and huge, I found the mammoth of all industrial pump coffee thermoses. I now get up everymornig and make two pots of coffee, which I take to work, enjoy thoroughly, and have plenty to share with my co-workers.

My day job is technical writing. Coffee is to the technical writer as motor oil is to the car. Well, that’s not quite accurate: a writer’s coffee must be replaced much more often than a vehicle’s motor oil!

I prepare my coffee just prior to leaving for the day, drinking only a bit to ensure its taste. The rest is sealed in a wonderful THERMOS travel mug and it waits for me to complete my morning workout — I guess you could say it’s my reward!

Now, I have a Black & Decker coffeemaker at home. If I am to ensure my morning coffee habit, I must prepare the grounds and fill the device with water the night before. If I miss that, then I must do that work right after I awake — if I were a betting man, I would never bet on me actually doing this. That means there are mornings when I just don’t have time to make my own coffee.

On those dreary mornings, I am forced to rely on what it offered in a local convenience store or — pardon my involuntary shudder — the nasty brew that is provided free-of-charge in the office.

If I had this coffee maker, I would be assured of a proper morning dose on a regular basis. My mornings would run much more smoothly, and I would probably gain some time on my morning commute.

And for all of that, I would be truly grateful.

  22. GayeLynn says:

Coffee keeps my blood flowing…I do not function without it. All the family knows this and it is a joke. Hubby calls me “Sunshine” joking over my foggy brain until I get my coffee. I am glad and blessed that he likes to fix me good coffee in our press first thing each morning!

  23. Vicki f says:

Love my Daily Shot of Coffee to wake me up each day!
Without my coffee …..I would be in such a way!
If I’d win my free Keuirg I don’t know what I’d say!
So please pick me and keep me posted in the city by the bay!!

  24. Ian Dalziel says:

Ah… Coffee. The delicious lubricant that keep western civilization running in the morning. What would happen if I left home without coffee? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Which would be a travesty.

  25. Kathy K. says:

My drive to work is 12 miles in heavy traffic. No big deal, right? Well. . .on a few occasions I have gotten behind the wheel without first imbibing coffee (stupid, I know, and only because those are days I am headed to a breakfast meeting, and thus unwisely chose not to spend the time using my slow and old-fashioned automotic drip machine), I can feel the ugly difference during the drive and fear that one of these days, the lack of caffeine/alert brain cells will get me into trouble–please help me and maybe even save my life, Mr. Coffee and Keurig!

  26. PennyZeni says:

I get coffee withdrawal if I go without coffee — and get splitting headaches in the morning. Dangerous for anyone who encounters me! Great post – thanks!

  27. You’ve known me long enough to know that I am strictly forbidden from leaving the house without coffee. Bad, bad things happen.
I’ve been known to drive places without the influence of coffee and have no recollection whatsoever of how I’ve gotten there.
In the morning, if I am up at 6:30 to get ready for work, I begin drinking my coffee around 7 in the car and am not a functioning human until two big cups have been completed. I am incapable of doing anything unless its on autopilot until the caffeine kicks in

As a side bonus—I should win this because I make the worst coffee in the world and should be banned from brewing my own :) I should have a machine that will brew it for me!

  28. Tracey Henick says:

I love my morning coffee! The smell is almost better than the first sip. I left the house back in May once without having a cup. When I realized where the terrible headache was coming from I remedied the situation! I won’t let that happen again!!!

  29. MrJodie says:

It was a dark and scary morning. Thunder rolled, the heavens wept gobbets of thick rain and I stumbled from my home in a trimethylxanthine deficient stupor. I had missed my morning alarm and had dressed too quickly. It was obvious to anyone because of the mis-matched socks and poor shirt and trouser combination. This tragedy could have been prevented. My kitchen has a Mr. Coffee Single Serve Keurig Coffee Maker shaped void that is screaming to be filled. Nature abhors a vacuum, almost as much as I hate missing my morning cup-o-joe. Please right this injurious wrong. Help a starving writer fulfill his destiny to caffeinate his way to creating the perfect novel fueled by perfect cup after perfect cup of heaven’s brew.

  30. Laurel Mastro says:

Leaving home without coffee is like being in a fog. I have actually just zoned out and driven right past my exit to work before I realized I was there. I need that jolt of coffee to get my morning started right.

  31. Theresa R says:

I walk a mile in a half 5 days a week at 5:40 each morning to get to the railroad station to take me to work and if I didn’t have my coffee I would get hit by the oncoming cars while crossing the streets. I just wouldn’t be able to see them. That early brew gives me night vision and I become a super hero- it gives me that exciting lightning bolt jolt -so If I didn’t have my fix I would have no energy at all to get up off the ground and I would be steam rolled over and over again! Now that is what I call scary!!!

  32. Geri says:

Before I leave the house always grab the cell phone, keys and the travel mug. Being stuck in traffic without my cup of Joe would be cause for a panic attack, rear ending someone, driving through Hardee’s drive through at top speed grabbing the biscuit as I go! Just think anything could happen without my morning coffee, afternoon coffee or anytime coffee. Driving without coffee should be an offense and should be ticketed for this crime. I hope these are enough reasons why I love coffee and cannot live without it. All joking aside…coffee has been a part of my beverage routine for years why stop now. The coffee world has expanded so much in the past years want to try all the varieties out there and savor each drop.

  33. addrienne mertens says:

if i dont have coffee in the morning i go through withdraw and have a massive headache the rest of the day. ugh its happened . i never want to leave home with out it!

  34. Jodi says:

my datebook is stained with coffee, as if I sat it in a pan of coffee… this angers me because clearly I intended on drinking that coffee and somehow I dumped it in my bag. It’s messy and embarrassing looking…Yet, I love coffee.

  35. Jodi says:

I recently re-used a paper coffee cup to be green. The glue was clearly intended for one use and as I tried to climb into my car, the scalding hot coffee seeped out the side, causing me to scream and quietly as I could manage. I dropped everything else, carefully placed the coffee down to try to keep the cup together, and ran into the house frantically finding an alternate vessel to keep the coffee. I drank the coffee with my right hand since my left was burned signficantly… Yet, I love coffee.

  36. Sue Jochman says:

I NEED coffee in the morning. It is not a preference, it is a necessity! A day without coffee is a day that I do not leave my house. Individual coffee cups instead of brewing a pot would make the whole coffee thing even better. Yummy !

    • Sue Jochman says:

Today is a great example…. no coffee before i left for work. Drove 25 minutes. Parked. Walked into my office area. Raelized I did not have any keys to my desk. I found i am not very effective without pens, paper and my lap top. All I could do was look out the window and DREAM about the days when I had coffee and could actually be productive at work. True sob story….

I can’t believe I am sharing this with anyone…so sad, but true! I am a creature of habit I leave my house at the same time everyday for work, always drink my coffee in a red mug… You get it ???
Last Thursday, I was going to break the mold and skip the morning coffee , leave my house without the red mug of hot coffee habit. Driving along to work, I wasn’t use to having another hand free. (Duh, it is my coffee hand), so I started playing with the knobs on my radio and I guess I went a little too fast. That is what the policeman said anyway!!!! Then when I got to work I locked my keys in my car….moral of the story see the bad things that happen when you leave home without your coffee(in a red mug)
