The Drinks: Parisian Vanilla And Hazelnut Crème Brulee From Melitta
Type: Ground Flavored Coffees
Overall Ratings: 3.25 And 3.5 Out Of 5 Coffee Mugs
Along with the Ready Set Joe that Melitta sent over for review, they threw in several bags of coffee, including two of their flavored coffees – Parisian Vanilla and Hazelnut Cème Brulee – two of my favorite coffee flavors.
I wasted no time ripping into the Parisian Vanilla.
It had a sweet vanilla flavor that reminded me of a scented candle from Yankee Candle. I picked up hints of honey and a slight nutty flavor.
The taste was serious. It had a nutty taste in the middle with the vanilla just around the edges. The after taste was dominated by the nutty-coffee flavor.
The sip started off very smooth and finished off with just a hint of bitterness.
Overall, a solid vanilla flavored coffee. I don’t know if I would put it in my top three, but it was an above average coffee. It ended up with a 3.25 rating.
The Hazelnut Crème Brulee had a similar feel.
It had a straight forward hazelnut aroma. It didn’t try to overpower me with the scent either. Mixed in was a vanilla flavor.
The first sip had a strong nutty taste, that tasted very mature. It was followed up by a sweet caramel and vanilla flavor as it cooled down.
The after taste was just about the same as the vanilla and the overall smooth to bitter feeling was almost exactly the same.
Another good flavored coffee. I’d put this one with the top hazelnut coffees that I’ve tried with a 3.5 rating.
Both of these coffees would be good for a flavored coffee drinker that was looking to venture into the non-flavored coffee world. They have enough flavor to keep the sweet tooth happy without being to overwhelming.
An eleven ounce bag runs for $6.99 for the ground coffee. A nine ounce bag is the same price for whole beans.

I love vanilla flavored coffee but unfortunately I can’t do the flavored coffee beans. For whatever reason it rips my stomach to shreds…okay, that might be an exaggeration, but it does give me a tummy ache. I am however, very interested in the Melitta coffee maker. I buy their grocery store brand coffee when I run out of my personal brand and it’s actually pretty good. I also use their coffee filters. I have, in the past, purchased many of their coffee makers. It’s nice to know that they are sending you stuff for review, and because of that I feel good about supporting their brand.
I definitely think you should try their pour over filter! I definitely recommend it, plus it’s easy on the stomach. Overall, I really like their brand and have enjoyed everything that I’ve reviewed so far.
I love a coffee with a strong vanilla taste (but not overwhelming). Will have to try this one.
I’m the same way, which is why I think i liked this coffee.
I love Creme Brulee, especially if we are talking The Palms Restraunt!! I must try that coffee.

I don’t know if it’s Palms restaurant quality, but it is really good. Plus, it’s supporting a local business. Their corporate office is just down the street in Clearwater.
