Poll: Do You Drink Your Coffee Black?

by Mike on October 17, 2009 in Polls

Black Coffee

This week’s poll question is “Do You Drink Your Coffee Black?

If I’m at home brewing my coffee or buying it at a coffee shop, I drinking it black. With good coffee, that’s fresh, I almost never add anything. However, if I’m out at a restaurant or someplace, I’m not afraid to load it up with cream and sugar to make it drinkable. I may take a sip black just to taste it, but it seems that many restaurants don’t make good coffee.

Last week’s question was “Have You Ever Tried Kopi Luwak?

The answer was overwhelmingly no. Eighty percent voted no.

I’d like to try it! It’s freakin’ expensive though. It’s going on my list of things to buy when I have a spare Benjamin to blow, like a bottle of vintage Dom champagne.
My mother always told me I have champagne taste on a beer budget…sigh. She was right. I’m not high maintenance in regards to “having to have” everything nice, I just like it, and expensive coffee reeks of quality to me, and I love me some quality LOL.

I was the same way, I wanted to try it, but I thought it was just too expensive just to try. However, I was lucky enough to try it earlier this year and I think everyone should try it at least once.

Thanks to everyone that voted this week!

Usually drink morning coffee blach, although I’ve found a few coffees that are nice with 1/2&1/2 or cream. Ir’s kind of an esthetic thing, like sanding down the corners in woodworking-kinda rounds off the sharp edges. If I’m out, I’m more likely to add cream or 1/2&1/2. In my case mpstly because places serve it So Friggin’ Hot – it’s a beverage guys, not an implement of torture!(I’ve burnt lips or tongue far Too many times for that, now I carry a reusable mug & add my 1/2&1/2 first-thankyou Gulf War coverage-I refer to it as a pre-emptive strike.)

I know exactly what you’re talking about. Some places are so hot that you can’t drink it for thirty minutes or more.

Once upon a time there was milk. Then I graduated to half-and-half, then to flavored creamers in my experimental years. Now there is only Coffee Mate World Cafe collection Italian Sweet Creme creamer. I have actually called the company and told them that I might perish if they ever discontinue it!

Wow, if you like that much, I may have to try it out. I don’t use creamer as often as I used to, but that might be worth checking out.

I’m surprised that you haven’t started to become the occasional black coffee drinker yet. Give it time.

Black exclusively. The only time, in my adult life, I can recall having it any other way was at a McDonalds up in Maine. Despite my specifically ordering it “black, no sugar”, it came with both milk and sugar. It took me by surprise, ending up sprayed across my steering wheel and nearly putting me in the ditch.

I look before I drive away, these days . . .

You’re a better than I am. When it comes McDonald’s coffee or anything along those lines, I’m definitely putting some milk and sugar in it.

As far as the accuracy at the drive-thrus – I always check now – coffee, fast food, whatever. It’s just dangerous not to check.
