Poll: How Do You Make Your Coffee?

by Mike on May 23, 2009 in Polls

French PressThis week’s poll question is “How Do You Make Your Coffee?”

Right now, I have a drip coffee maker and that’s it. I know it’s a sin, but I have a French Press that I’ve been eyeing, I dream about my own espresso machine and to tell the truth I wouldn’t mind a single serve coffee machine.

If you choose other, let me know what your method is.

Last week’s questions was “Regular or Decaf?”

An overwhelming number, 87 percent of you said regular.

Thirteen percent said both, but not a single person choose just decaf. This poll is pretty unscientific but I’m surprsied that it didn’t get at least one vote.

I clicked OTHER because I use several different methods of making coffee, depending on my mood. Most often, I use a drip coffee maker because it’s quick, easy, and my boys know how to use the drip coffee maker so I can just say “Put on a pot of coffee, please.” After dinner, I like a double espresso (when I have the time) made in a stovetop moka pot. On weekend mornings, if I’m feeling ambitious, I like making my coffee in a saucepan Puerto Rican or Cuban style. I’ve done cold brewed before, and it’s marvelous, but a pain in the neck to keep up with. And one of my readers over at CoffeeBreak told me about one I’d never heard before. Her mother makes coffee in a drip coffee pot, freezes it in cups, then stores the frozen coffee in zip-loc baggies. When she wants a hot coffee, she pops a frozen cube into a cup and nukes it.

I think you have it pretty much all covered! I really want to start tying out different methods, just to see what the taste differences are and to say I tried them.

I have yet to find coffee that I can enjoy straight black? So I add 1 sugar n 1 creamer. I like to be able to taste the coffee. I have it every morning, oh my goodness, I’m addicted to coffee the way my hubby is addicted to his dr.pepper!!! Lol

I know a few people (but no where near as many coffee addicts) that are addicted to Dr Pepper, I’m surprised there’s not a blog dedicated to it.

I prefer to make drip coffee with a Bunn Coffee Maker. Dont have to wait forever like with Mr Coffee. In the afternoon it is a treat for my wife and I to enjoy a pot of pressed coffee. We prefer Starbuck’s French Roast for both.
