This week’s question is “What Do You Want For The Daily Shot Of Coffee Rating System?”
Currently, I’ve been using coffee cups, but I was wondering if something else might make more sense. What about using a system of coffee beans or stars? What do you think? I’ve included some of the rating icons that were suggested or popped into my head. Do you have a suggestion?
Last’s week’s question was “What Type Of Coffees Do You Want Reviewed?”
The majority of the votes were for grocery store coffee. That’s definitely something that I’ll be including more in the near future.
Gourmet/Specialty coffee and Coffee from other places tied for second. I think if gourmet/specialty coffee received zero votes, I’d still continue to review it, but it’s glad that at least some readers find the reviews helpful or entertaining. And like grocery store coffee, expect me to start reviewing more coffee from places like gas stations, fast food places, etc.
Coffee shop coffee came in last with just one vote. I’ve done a few coffee shop reviews in the past and from the sounds of it, you’d like to see more of the reviews of the coffee shops, than the actual coffee. That works for me too.
Luis had a great suggestion which I’m going to look more into:
I would actually like to find more opinions on coffees grown in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. I know Ecuador and Peru are a bit under the radar but there are good farms once you sift through and Bolivia has a CoE program going … I just a lot of potential from these places.

I’ve voted for the Coffee Beans, but I was going for Coffee Cups first, but I thought Beans would be better
I like coffe cups because it sounds like you’re saying you’d enjoy drinking that many cups if given the maximum, five. It’s like you’re stacking up physical cups that you’ve finished and liked and simply fitting it on a linear scale of five cups (which is how the reviews tend to sound, too!), which is more personal or first-hand-experience or gives a better mental image than star ratings.
“Beans” for rating is cute, but I would always wonder how you could stop at just five beans. Five cups, that I understand!
