Poll: Why Do You Drink Coffee?

by Mike on August 15, 2009 in Polls

Coffee Addiction

This week’s poll is “Why Do You Drink Coffee?

I’m all of the above, I’m addicted to coffee, need the caffeine and love the taste. What’s your reason? Did I miss any reason?

Last week’s poll was “Do You Like Flavored Coffee?

All week long the votes were neck and neck, with neither for or against flavored coffee ever really taking a significant lead. Then this morning, when all the votes were tallied, it was a tie.

Fifty people voted in the poll, the most votes ever for a poll. It seems that people have strong feelings about flavored coffee. Thanks everyone for voting!

Alex said,

“Any coffee worth it’s beans should be consumed black.”

Tara answered,

“I love most flavored coffee, except for most fruity ones as well as any amaretto flavors. I agree with Janet as it should be strong & black; in my case, preferably iced.”

But my favorite comment came from David,

I am one of those respondents who unhesitatingly pressed the ‘NO’ button. Just as when the baristas at Starbucks say to me: “What flavor would you like sir”, I reply; “Coffee flavor please”.

Isn’t this a bit like saying “Do you like flavored orange juice”.

I’m a fan of flavored coffees, but I can understand the feelings of other side too. My opinion is that flavored coffees are great, but nothing beats a quality cup of coffee because it can be enjoyed black with no need for sugar or cream.

Gotta say I’m all of the above too Mike – addicted to coffee, (often)need the caffiene & love the taste. All 3 come into play on those ‘little too early*sigh, but…’ mornings when I can’t seem to get going. Then ‘the morning elixir of the bleary-eyed masses’ works it’s magic, although I admit some mornings I’m not too fussy about the quality of that first cup(just gimme that java jolt, STAT!) Then-once I’m awake-if I have the time I’ll get out the French Press & brew up a Good cup or two.

Darrell – First, just wanted to thank you for your votes and comments. Second, I know exactly what you’re talking about when you talk about those little too early mornings.
