Single Serve Coffee Makers – 2010 Holiday Shopping Guide
I know that a lot of coffee purists are anti-single serve coffee makers, but after getting my first Keurig last year I was hooked. It’s perfect for when I’m in a rush to get out the door or just want one cup of coffee. Nothing compares to the flavor of coffee brewed in a French Press or Drip Coffee Maker, but a single serve coffee maker does have it’s place.
In last year’s Single Serve Coffee Makers Shopping Guide, I mentioned a variety of different brands. This year, there’s one clear favorite and it’s the Keurig brand. By far the best made machines that I’ve used and the K-cups are always notch or two better than anything else that I’ve sampled.
Don’t forget about the Keurig and K-Cup giveaway going on this week, maybe you could get lucky and win one instead of having to buy one.

family has the keurig line.
i didn’t think much of them when my cousin first mentioned
that his crew had one but the more i use it the more
i admire the entire concept.
and that optional accessory My K-cup takes away
virtually every objection to the system.
no landfill plastic kcups to worry about
and no stale coffee to drink.
we have the regular size ‘Elite’ model and the ‘Mini’ which
is a great travel pal. much better than
the units which you typically are offered
in hotel and motel kitchens.
the only problem i’ve had with ours is
that it now only makes 1 size drink.
i’ve adapted so far. guess the micro chip
controller needs some caffeine!
i wonder if they are considering one to
play my iPod when it turns on in the
early hours? that would be very cool.
My favorite feature on the Platinum is the ability to pick cup size. That way I can make just one normal sized cup of coffee, or fill up my entire thermos.
I’d like it to play some nice soft music in the morning, and now we’re really rocking and rolling.
I really like my Keurig mini, but would love to get the Platinum! Is that the one that makes iced drinks as well?
It is the one that makes iced drinks. I did use that feature more than a few times this summer.
I am looking for a single serve coffee maker that brews iced coffee… I know that some brew hot coffee and then tell you to brew it over ice.. but that only gives you watered down iced coffee. I am looking for one that will brew coffee with cold water to brew a good strong cup of iced coffee and also one that will use coffee pods that are easily available. I think the new Krups/nespresso machines brew cold but their coffee pods are very specialized and not easily available at this point. Does anyone know of a machine like that?? Thanks!
