The Drink: Sweet Love Blend From Jim’s Organic Coffee
Type: Dark Roast Blend
Overall Rating: 3.75 Out Of 5 Coffee Mugs

Last weekend I was looking for a new coffee to try at my local grocery store. When I didn’t find anything that I would want to put into my coffee maker, I wandered over to the organic section. That’s where I found a number of coffees that I want to try, including Sweet Love Blend from Jim’s Organic Coffee.

Just like the name, the coffee had a sweetness to it. Starting with the aroma, I picked up on a sweet flavor with hints of honey and chocolate. That was followed by a warm wave of mild smoky flavor.

The coffee had an almost rough feeling on my tongue. It had an intense, but not overwhelming dark roast flavor. Underneath that was the sweetness, specifically a honey flavor. I was able to pick up on hints of chocolate, bread crust and some floral flavors.

The after taste was filled with a smooth nutty flavor and a sprinkle of chocolate that invited me back for another sip.

Overall, the coffee had a smooth feel to it and in a french press it had a heavy body.

Of course, the coffee is 100% organic, but the fun doesn’t stop there. It’s also shade grown, fairly traded and Kosher. That’s the first time that I’ve ever come across a coffee that’s Kosher.

A 12 ounce bag of Sweet Love Blend cost me a $9.89 at my local grocery store. On their website, I found it for $9.70. I also spotted it at Amazon for $25.28 for a three pack.

Sweet Love Blend from Jim’s Organic Coffee earned an above average 3.75 on the Daily Shot Of Coffee scale. I’d have no problem recommend this coffee to someone looking for quality coffee in the grocery store. I know it sounds like an oxymoron, but I’ve found the proof that it exists.

Fine Print.

Nice review Mike…the coffee, sounds great. I will have to see if it is at Whole Foods. I don’t think my local Kroger carries any organic coffee. I am just glad to find Community Coffee there.

The flavor of the reviewed coffee sounds intriguing! Thank you again for the review.

Yeah, I was surprised that my grocery store had anything like that. However, they do have a growing orangic/health foods section.

Community Coffee was actually one of the coffees that I was looking for at the grocery store and when I didn’t find it (and a few other options), I headed to the organic section.

next time remind me to check for a Rabii in my coffee.

never seen one or had one. does a Kosher coffee come
from the frontquarters of the tree? i’m not sure.

anyway, organic coffee (and organic foods in general)
do seem to have a more appealing taste. it makes
sense that you came back for more. sounds like a
desireable bean and brand. any coffee that brands
itself to have an Ambrosian aroma ought to bump
it up a notch.

I have to remind myself to research and see what makes coffee kosher.

I agree, organic foods do seem to have a special taste. Ambrosian stood out to me too!
