Long Morning - Coffee Maker Mess

This week’s question is for everyone with a drip coffee maker: How often do you clean your coffee maker?

I try to clean my coffee maker at least once a month. Sometimes I do it more often, sometimes I do it less. I know, I should do it more frequently, I have subpar water and it can dramatically affect the taste of my coffee, but it’s not always on the top of my todo list.

Side Question: How do you clean your coffee maker? I used the vinegar method, it’s a long process, but it’s effective.

Last week’s poll was “Coffee Wars” Where Do You Get Your Coffee?

From past polls and talking to many of you, I know that at least a good percentage of Daily Shot Of Coffee visitors who would rather get their coffee at the neighborhood independent coffee shop, but I decided to frustrate you leave that option out so that we could see who would win the coffee wars between the big national chains.

Initially, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts were neck and neck, but over the week Starbucks took the lead and didn’t look back. In the end, Starbucks dominated with 58% of the vote.

Dunkin Donuts finished with 29% of the vote.

With all the marketing that they’re doing, I was a little surprised that McDonald’s only received two votes all week long.

I wasn’t so surprised that 7-Eleven only received one vote.
