Have you tried Grady’s Cold Brew? I’ve heard that it’s good but wasn’t sure if it’s worth ordering.

The differences are definitely muted, but after I saw your comment, it got me thinking how much the preparation method has just as much or more affect on the final taste with the cold brew that I’ve been making at home this summer. Maybe the secret sauce is just as much the methods.

Now that you mention it, I’ve never seen anyone disclose the beans they use for cold brew either. Perhaps it’s due to the assumption that you can’t really discern individual characteristics, and that cold brew ends up tasting more like the preparation method than the bean itself. I’ve always found an espresso blend to work well, since it needs to hit the same body/acid balance, and serve as the base for more complex drinks.

i’m just glad the secret tastes great
i DO know a college kid who swears
that cold brew coffee with cold chocolate
milk is his go to drink in hot weather.

now i know why! Mike has given 4 mugs
to at least one version.
