Top Daily Shot Of Coffee Posts Of 2009

by Mike on December 31, 2009 in Coffee News

2009 is just about over. In some ways it feels like I just started blogging yesterday. In other ways, it seems like I’ve been blogging about coffee forever (in a good way). Either way, it’s been an amazing year and I wanted to take a quick second to thank everyone who left a comment, emailed me, voted in a poll or just read a post. Thank you!

The top posts of 2009 were determined by most views, posts with most comments or debate and a few of my personal favorites.

What’s your favorite Daily Shot Of Coffee post?

10. 8 Steps To Coffee Perfection
A few tips and tricks that I found along the way to get the best tasting cup of joe. It made the list because it was probably one of the most practical, useful articles of the year.

9. Mr. Coffee Espresso Maker Review
I know that this steam powered espresso machine won’t satisfy the coffee snobs, but I love this bad boy and still use it on a regular basis. This was number 9 because I really like playing around with this espresso maker and I highly recommend it as an entry level espresso maker.

8. Peppermint Mocha Showdown: Dunkin Donuts Vs. Starbucks
Anything with peppermint mocha has a good chance of making it on the top ten list. I love pepermint mochas and I’m pretty sure that Starbucks should be serving them year round. However, Dunkin Donuts shouldn’t serve them at all.

7. 24 Uses For Coffee Filters
And you thought that coffee filters were just for making coffee. This made the list because who know there were so many different ways to use a coffee filter.

6. Aerobie AeroPress Review
This little gadget is probably one of the most unique ways to make coffee, but it’s also one of the best ways to make coffee. This comes in at #6 because it was one of the first coffee products that I reviewed and really created a spot for product reviews on the blog.

5. 8 Tips And Tricks For The Best French Press Coffee
Without question, French Presses make the best coffee. Here’s a few things that I learned to make it even better. This makes the top five because it’s a must read for anyone with a french press or considering buying one.

4. 16 Of The Best Coffee Quotes
Some slightly silly thoughts about coffee. Maybe not the most life changing of blog posts, but one of the most entertaining. Also, the second most visited post of the year. Just over 5,000 reads.

3. Guide To The Starbucks Menu
Hands down, this was the most visited post this year. It still gets anywhere from twenty to forty people reading it daily. It’s had a total of 7,710 views this year and counting! Amazing.

1. America Doesn’t Run On Dunkin / Another Reason To Boycott Dunkin Donuts: Dustin Pedroia
There was a time when I loved Dunkin Donuts, however their lackluster customer service and products convinced me to change my opinion. These two posts combined are my personal favorites and I think it’s where I started to find my voice for the blog.

1. Can You Drink Too Much Coffee?
My vote has always been no, because there’s mornings when I needed a bottomless cup, but there are some experts who have a different opinion. How could this not make the list?  And where else should this slightly controversial and highly entertaining post go, other than at the top of the list.
