Tully’s Kona Blend K-Cup Review

by Mike on March 2, 2010 in Coffee Reviews

The Drink: Tully’s Kona Blend
Type: Extra Bold K-Cup
Overall Rating: 3.5 Out 5 Coffee Mugs

I know that we just did a Kona review last night, (check out Jamie’s review of Kona Kili Coffee here), but I couldn’t wait any longer to review Tully’s Kona Blend, one of my favorite K-Cups that I’ve tasted since receiving the Keurig Platinum B70.

The cup of Tully’s Kona Blend had a sweet, nutty aroma that had hints of a spices, honey and a dark roast flavor.

The bold describes the taste perfectly. The first sip was enough to wake up my exhausted mind and get me back on track.

It had an earthy-nutty flavor that was mixed with a light fruity taste and had hints of honey and spices. The spicy flavor became a little stronger towards the end of the sip.

The coffee had a very smooth taste, with no bitterness.

A box of 24 of the Tully’s Kona Blend runs for $9.95 or about 41 cents per cup of coffee. That’s not a bad price and lower than some of the other K-Cups. At that price, you can tell it’s a Kona Blend and not one hundred percent Kona, but it was still delicious tasting.

This coffee was very easy to drink. It would be perfect for someone with a K-Cup machine and is looking for a bold taste to wake them up in the morning.

Overall, the Tully’s Kona Blend was a solid 3.5 out of 5 on the Daily Shot Of Coffee scale. That’s a rating compared to other K-Cups that I’ve tried and not compared to whole beans or ground coffee.

This is the first of many K-Cups that I’ll be reviewing thanks to Coffee For Less, they sent me a box full of coffees to review.

A change from the norm, Flavia coffee offers many different styles and flavors.

I want one of these K-Cup machines so bad and keep fighting it off for one reason or another, this might be the article that makes me crack.
