Van Houtte Cafe French Vanilla K-Cup Review
The Drink: Van Houtte Cafe French Vanilla
Type: Flavored K-Cup
Overall Rating: 3.5 Out Of 5 Coffee Mugs
Tonight, I’m sipping on the Van Houtte Cafe French Vanilla K-Cup. I have a weakness for French Vanilla coffees, I like vanilla almost as much as I like anything mocha..
I’ve had a lot of good French Vanilla Coffees, but most missed the mark. The vanilla was either overwhelming in the aroma department or had flavor that just wasn’t drinkable. This K-Cup hit the spot.
This K-Cup coffee had an aroma that gets two thumbs up. It wasn’t at all overwhelming. It had a smooth vanilla aroma, with distinctive hints of a warm chocolate.
Initially the taste was two thumbs down. It was drinkable, but would’ve barely earned a two on the Daily Shot Of Coffee Scale. Luckily, it improved after a couple minutes and had a chance to cool down.
The improved taste was a very drinkable nutty flavor, with a thin layer of vanilla around the edges. It was a serious coffee flavor that went perfect with the rich nutty taste. There were hints of a delicious white chocolate.
The after taste was a perfect mix of the serious coffee flavor and mouth watering vanilla that kept me craving the next sip.
The coffee was extremely smooth, tasted like a medium roast and had a light body.
The final score for the Van Houtte Cafe French Vanilla was an above average 3.5. If you like flavored K-Cups, this is definitely one to check out.
Try a box at Amazon for $14.19. Maybe a little pricey then others, but still reasonable.

What’s up, Mike? Now this review was interesting…the first sip was a thumbs down, yet the after taste left you wanting more. LOL!
.-= Phil´s last blog ..Coffee: one of the 7 foods that will kill you? =-.
That’s what I said! It was an interesting coffee to review.
i think flavored coffees are harder to find than regular
unflavored coffees…if a person wants a great taste experence.
most of the flavored ones we have tried seem to
have something after-taste-artificial-tasting in them.
god knows what since the labels aren’t specific.
my wife loves flavored coffee so it’s important
to me at the domestic level since she pesters me
to share brews with her.
she has to try this one on your reccommendation.
i do know both of us have enjoyed ‘Emeril’s Vanilla Bean Bam’
which might target the same taste buds. it was / is pretty decent.
we do use a 1/2 and 1/2 organic cream with it.
As always Howard, thanks for your comments. They definitely provide an interesting insight.
I’m going to have to keep an eye out for the Emeril’s Vanilla Bean Bam. I’ve been hearing a lot of interesting things about that line of coffee an want want to see if it’s all just hype.
I am thinking there has to be better K_cups then that stuff i have tried so far, we have a machine at work , i may try some more, it does not beat my french press though

It definitely doesn’t beat a french press, but it’s good for a lazy person that’s always running around like myself.
