Waking Up In Tampa With Seattle Sunrise From MarketSpice

The Drink: Seattle Sunrise From MarketSpice
Type: Whole Bean Blend
Overall Rating: 3.75 Out 5 Coffee Mugs

My brother lives in Seattle, the mecca of coffee. Every year for Christmas, he gets me at least one bag of coffee that I can’t get in Tampa, yet he doesn’t drink the stuff himself. It kind of makes me feel like a failed coffee blogger if I can’t even get my brother to drink it in the morning.

Anyways, this year my brother sent me a bag from a spice, tea and coffee store in the famous Pike Place Market called MarketSpice. The coffee that he gave me this year was their Seattle Sunrise.

Wake up with a cup of this rich coffee named after our fair city! While we may not always see the sun shining, your day will be made significantly brighter with this complex blend of beans at varying roast levels. (Peak, Velvet, and French Roasts)
MarketSpice description

The first thing that I noticed about this coffee was the beans. They were three distinct shades of the beans. The most obvious was the darker, almost shinny French Roast. I’m assuming the other two was their peak and velvet.

After the beans were ground and brewed, I picked up on a rich nutty aroma. There were hints of spices, with grapefruit and peaches in the background. There was also a little bit of earthiness (imagine walking through the woods after a heavy rain).

The coffee was full of thick flavors. There was the spiciness that I smelled a minute or two earlier. It was like a mix of cloves and allspice. There was a hint of grapefruit and a little bit of sweet fruit flavor that I just couldn’t pin down. There was also a hint of smokiness that rounded out the flavor.

It was a smooth coffee, with a medium body on my tongue.

Overall, Seattle Sunrise made my Tampa morning a little bit brighter. It earned an above average 3.75 on the Daily Shot Of Coffee scale. There’s about a million coffee shops that I want to visit in Seattle, and I’m adding MarketSpice to that list.

Thanks goes out to my brother for sending me this coffee!

just tell your brother to keep sending you coffee.
while he might not drink and enjoy it, he seems
to enjoy buying it and even makes good choices.

    hooray for bro-s!
