Sunday, I started to run dangerously low on coffee. I’ve been wandering around, looking for a online place to buy coffee for a while and now I was going to have to pick up my search a notch, or I’d be buying another bag of bland coffee from the grocery store soon.
A few minutes later, I ended up on the Boca Java website. It seemed like the perfect place to start my online coffee buying adventure because of their variety of flavored coffees, plus they offer sample sizes. I wasn’t really sure what I was looking for, but this seemed like the perfect way to start.
I placed my order and the next day, I received my email receipt that said my order should arrive in four to five business days. I started to get nervous, I didn’t have that much coffee left.
This morning, I finished up the last bit of ground coffee that I had. My heart started to beat fast and I started to go through coffee withdrawls even before I finished my last cup of coffee. Then, I did the UPS tracking and saw that it was out for delivery already.
Early this afternoon, the UPS man dropped off my coffee, just in time for my afternoon coffee break. I can’t tell you how excited I was to get this coffee so early.
I ordered eight ounces of their Maple Bacon Morning Coffee, a light roast. I really can’t put it into words better than with their description.
Reminiscent of a hearty, Saturday morning breakfast around the table, this sweet, savory coffee delights the senses with the smell and taste of home. Maple Bacon Morning has a base that is full-bodied and complex, and it’s a delicious way to rise when the rooster crows.
I don’t know about rising with the rooster crows, that doesn’t sound like much fun to me, but they’re right on the money about Saturday morning breakfast. The aroma of this coffee reminds me of bacon and pancakes my dad used to cook in the kitchen on the weekends.
I could taste the maple right away, but I really didn’t get the bacon flavor until it cooled down. The brew had a very smooth quality that reminded me of lazy Sunday mornings.
However, it did have a slightly smoky taste to me. But, there’s a good chance that I made this first post too strong. The directions were simple, but translating to my coffee maker, didn’t go so well, especially since I was in a rush to taste it and get back to work.
The verdict is out on this particular coffee, but I’m definitely going to be ordering from Boca Java again.
First their speed that it got here was amazing. Plus, they roast the beans to order. This bag was roasted on Monday and two days later it’s in my coffee maker. I’ve never seen coffee beans so shiny before, they looked brand new.
I have three more of their Boca Java coffees to review soon -
Chocolate Cherry Celebration
Deep Blue Blueberry
Mint Chocolate Memories
A lot of people have been asking me where to buy coffee online. Boca Java is now officially my first suggestion.

This is awesome! I am visiting from 31DBBB and I can’t believe you have a whole blog about coffee! I did not think there was anyone who loved coffee more than me, but obviously there is! great site!
I’ve had a lot of different blogs, always looking for a subject that I really love and can write about. It seems this is the one.
On a side note, the 31DBBB is great. I’ve been learning so much this month.
O.k..I have not had the opportunity to try them yet..but I think that they go on my list..
sounds …hmm..maybe good. BAcon?
I’ll admit, the bacon is what caught my attention. I think it’s great coffee, just not for me.
Wow you did get this coffee fast, didn’t you order it from my house that Sunday?? I love the sound of it and your post about this particular flavor brought me right back to when I was a chitlin back in the day. Sunday morning breakfast oh so good.
I will be following your link and getting an item or two myself later today. Thanks Mike great post!
I’m a french vanilla kind of guy – bacon in coffee just wont do it for me. Like you said – may be great but not for me.
@Extreme – John Yeah, I ordered when I was at your house the other day and it showed up on Wednesday. You have to love service like that.
@Lace – You have to try it, it really doesn’t taste like you might expect.
The maple and bacon is subtle enough it’s not overpowering, but it leaves your mouth tasting as if you’d just had pancakes and bacon at a diner. It was a pleasant effect first time around. Like any flavored blend for me, though, it’s not something I could drink regularly.
My absolute favorite coffees at Boca Java are Sumatran Sunset and Southbeach Rhythm. I always have some of the Sumatran Sunset around — really starting to hit the wallet!
Yeah, I agree one hundred percent with your description.
I’ve been hearing a lot about Sumatran coffee, so I might have to give the Sumatran Sunset a try next time around.
Thanks for the comment.
Hmmm, looks yummy ,,, have u tried Luwak Coffee? its very famous in my country ( indonesia )
I haven’t tried Luwak Coffee, I’ll have to keep an eye out for it.
Ummm..Mike? pssst…Kopi Luwak is the coffee made from the beans that the civet cat ..ummm….expels. Fondly known in our house as cat poop coffee. Are you SURE you want to try it?
Yeah, on second thought I may have to pass on that.
