Type: Ground
The Rating: 3.5 out of 5 coffee cups.

I’ve mentioned everyday coffees a lot recently, but the Cafe Special from Community Coffee is one of the best. It’s affordable (only $5.99) and it’s delicious. It’s a winning combination that I could see myself drinking on a regular basis.

Their description really sums it up well:

Served in the finest restaurants in New Orleans, this special blend is roasted medium-dark to a rich brown color, yielding a full-bodied cup of coffee with a distinctive café taste and aroma.

Even though, I got more of a dark roast smell, it had a mild aroma that was soothing.

I tasted a nutty flavor as soon as it hit my tongue. It woke me right up and it was almost too much for me, but as it cooled down just a little, it became very drinkable.

There was a slightly bitter taste, but it added to the deep, bold flavor of this coffee.

You can buy it at Community Coffee for $5.49 for a 12 ounce bag. It is only sold in ground, so some purists might not like it, but it made an above average cup of coffee. I gave it a 3.5, I think the only thing holding it back from a 4 is that it does just come in ground.

If you need any more of a reason to buy Community Coffee, they’re one of those organizations that is taking an active part is doing their part to support the troops and fund schools.

They have a program called the Military Match: Anytime a person in the military orders four bags of coffee, they’ll deliver a “Military Match Gift Box” with eight packs of their coffee to any overseas military APO or FPO address.

They have another program called Community Cash For Schools: In the past 21 years, they’ve given over 4 million dollars to schools through a UPC/Proof Of Purchase exchange program. It’s resulted in new books, computers, playground equipment and more.

I really like Community Coffee, they seem to be a very positive company and the coffee is delicious. I have several more coffees to try from them and I can’t wait.
