The Drink: Fair Trade Organic Nicaraguan Coffee From The Best Thing To Happen To Coffee
Type: Whole Bean
Overall Rating: 3.25 out of 5
I really wasn’t sure what to expect with the Fair Trade Organic Nicaraguan Coffee from The Best Thing To Happen To Coffee. It’s been a while since I’ve had any coffee from that country and the description on the website only said:
Grown in the rich soil of the Metagalpa region with great aroma and flavor Coffee.
At first, I didn’t like this coffee. It didn’t really seem to mix well on my tongue. I was thinking that I was going to have to write something like “it’s good coffee, but just not for me.” However, after it cooled down, it mellowed into a coffee that I really enjoyed.
The aroma had hints of chocolate, cinnamon and sugar, but what really stood out was a dirty, earthy smell. I know it sounds like a bad thing, but it’s a good thing.
There was a bold taste and it was very smooth on my tongue. I could taste almost exactly what I could smell in this coffee, but there was also an antique taste to this coffee. It reminded me almost of the coffee that my grandmother would make.
The only thing that I ended up not liking about this coffee after it cooled down was the after taste. It was a little bitter for me, but still a good coffee overall.
Buy this coffee at The Best Thing To Happen To Coffee for $16 $9.99 a pound. It just went on sale today.
There, you can also find several other Fair Trade Organic coffees including Ethiopian, Guatemalan and Peruvian.

Ruthless!
There is nothing wrong with wanting coffee! Especially coffee like this.
