The Drink: Mocha Mountain Mist Coffee from The Best Thing To Happen To Coffee
Type: Whole Bean
Overall Rating: 3.25 out of 5
I was looking forward to trying the Mocha Mountain Mist from the Best Thing To Happen To Coffee. I love anything mocha related, especially iced coffee during the summer. I even use mochas as part of my evaluation when trying out a new coffee shop, if they can make a good mocha, they can usually handle just about anything else I order.
They describe their Mocha Mountain Mist as:
Warm Swiss Mocha fresh almonds with a touch of Ghirardelli white chocolate!
They’re made with one hundred percent Colombian beans, that are roasted and use high quality flavoring oils.
Chocolate lovers will love the aroma, it smells like a chocolate cake with chocolate syrup on top. It’s not an overwhelming smell either, it won’t fill up the kitchen with the aroma, just a pleasing chocolate scent coming directly from the coffee cup.
There’s rumored to be almond in the aroma, but I didn’t get it. However, I’m not a huge fan of the nut family, so there’s a chance that I just missed it.
If you’re not a flavored coffee drinker, this is one flavor that you might like. The chocolate flavor wasn’t overwhelming. It tastes like a medium-roast with hints of chocolate. There were also hints of strawberries and an earthy taste.
However, after it cooled down, the chocolate taste increased and really replaced anything else that was going on.
It had a light to medium body with a dirty feel. I know the earthy taste and dirty feel sound like bad things, but it really adds to the overall quality of this coffee.
If you like chocolate flavored coffees, you’ll definitely like this one. If you don’t like flavored coffees, it might be worth trying anyway. It really was an interesting coffee for my tongue and an above average coffee.
Right now the Mocha Mountain Mist Coffee is on sale for $8.99, usually $15. For the price alone, it earned it’s 3.25 out of 5 rating, the taste was just an added bonus.

This sounded yummy, but the picture threw me off a bit. Is that really what it looks like? Looks sort of similar to coconut flakes…
I am not a huge chocolate coffee fan, but I LOVE to try new flavors. A flavor is good for me when I can drink it black & iced.
Yes-you seem to love the erathy feel!

I think JT from the Best Thing To Happen To Coffee already explained to you what it was via Twitter, but I thought I would share with everyone else. It’s white chocolate sprinkles that melt during the brewing process, adding to the smell and taste of the coffee.
I’m going to have to try this one as an iced coffee today.

Can this be in the batch of freebies you might be kind enough to send me?
The look of the coffee beans alone makes me want to try this!!

I don’t have any of these for a giveaway, but maybe a giveaway from Best Thing To Happen To Coffee isn’t a bad idea.
