What I’m Drinking – Starbucks Coffee Frappuccino

Starbucks Coffee Frappuccino

The Drink: Starbucks Coffee Frappuccino

Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 cups

Just when I thought that I had tried every Frap that Starbucks offered, I stopped by their yesterday and spotted another one on the menu – the Coffee Frappuccino.

The Coffee Frap is coffee, milk and their frappuccino mix blended with ice. Unlike the other Fraps, it doesn’t come with whipped cream on top, unless you ask for it.

I’m kind of torn about this drink, it was very drinkable, but I found a few faults with it. Part of it might’ve been that I was in the mood for something less sweet. I think I should’ve gone with something along the lines of an iced coffee, because this drink was just too sweet.

The taste reminded me of a higher end version of the iced coffee from 7-Eleven, it was that sweet. However, unlike the drinks from 7-Eleven, there actually was coffee taste.

I didn’t think to ask what kind of coffee it was until after I left, but through the magic of Twitter, the Starbucks rep was able to tell me that it was Italian Roast, one of their darker roasts.

I’ve complained a few times that when I get a venti frap, it’s watered down halfway through, but friendly peer pressure from the barista and dreams of a caffeine wonderland convinced me to upsize to the grande. However, it might have been a good thing this time, because it wasn’t until the drink started to weaken, that the sweetness dissipatedly and I was able to taste the Italian Roast.

I should also note, that I didn’t taste the Italian Roast until after I received an answer from Starbucks, so it might have just been my tongue playing tricks on me.

As far as a rating, I’d give it 3 out of 5 coffee cups. It may actually be worthy of a higher rating because it was once of the best cold coffee drinks I’ve had recently, but I can’t see myself giving it an above average score. Like I said, I’m torn about this drink.

Coffee frap is my usual starbucks order too. I also like their mocha frap.

Thanks for adding my link. Have a great week ahead. :)

Everybody has at least heard of Starbucks and have either absolutely adored them or hated them. So have you considered trying the other coffee shop? There’s one called Seattles Best Coffee. Have you ever considered trying them?

I have a lot of people asking for Starbucks reviews so that’s main reason that they’re a regular part of the blog. Also, I like they’re coffee, so I’ll keep reviewing them.

As far as Seattle’s Best, it’s good coffee too, just zero locations near me. I’d be curious if they’ve changed since they were bought out by Starbucks. I haven’t had any of their coffee since then.
