What I’m Drinking – Wendy’s Coffee Toffee

Wendy's Coffee Toffee Twisted Frosty

The Drink: Wendy’s Coffee Toffee

Overall Rating: 2 out of 5 Coffee Cups

Whenever I turn on my television this week, it seems that I can’t avoid one of the ads fr the Wendy’s Coffee Toffee Twisted Shake. Right now, I can’t get the song out of my head. It seemed like it was some sort of sign that I should review it now and get it over with.

Originally, I was going to review it as a coffee drink and compare it with a Starbucks Frappuccino. However, it’s more coffee dessert than anything and should probably compared to something like a milkshake. If you look at it as a dessert, it’s really not that bad, unless you count the inches that it adds to your waistline.

If you’re looking for something coffee like to keep you awake, you won’t find it here. It’s safe to say that this is coffee influenced more than anything else. It’s just a vanilla frosty with “coffee bits.” It gave me an awesome sugar high, but it wasn’t long afterward that I was crashing and ready for a nap.

If you were curious about the taste, I could almost get the flavor of coffee, but more than anything else it was just a crispy chocolate with some caramel mixed in.

Overall, I enjoyed it, it’s delicious and sugary, but it doesn’t have enough coffee to justify the name Coffee Toffee.

I tried this just yesterday Mike, I am actually surprised it didn’t get the dreaded one cup rating. As an actual “coffee drink” it couldn’t seem much further from being coffee related.

    Not getting another one.

As far as being coffee related, you’re probably right. But my sweet tooth that still loves Frosty’s liked it as long as I pretended that it didn’t have the word coffee in the name.
