What I’m Drinking – Wendy’s Frosty-Cino

Wendy's Frosty CinoIt seems like everybody and their mother are trying to get into the coffee market right now. Yesterday, I stopped to pick up a quick bite to eat at Wendy’s and as I was pulling through the drive thru, I spotted the sign for their new “coffee treats.”

They’re now offering Coffee Toffee and Frosty-Cino. I went Eeny, meeny, miny, moe and picked the Frosty-Cino.

The initial taste was delicious, but it tasted more like soft serve ice cream than a coffee drink. There may have been a drop or two of coffee, but I was overwhelmed by the sweetness more than anything else.

As the drinking started to melt, I started to taste more of the coffee flavor, it was weak, but I was at least getting the taste of coffee now.

There definitely wasn’t much caffeine in it, but it did give me a wicked sugar high.

They describe their Frosty-Cino as their Frosty “hand blended” with sauces made from delicious ingredients. I’m really not sure what hand blended had to do with anything and their description couldn’t have been anymore unspecific or ambiguous.

I did a little research and learned that the ingredients include coca, coffee syrup and instant coffee – just not enough to qualify the drink as coffee.

If you’re looking for a cold coffee beverage to give you an extra perk and to get you going, you’re better off heading down the street to Starbucks or even McDonalds.

The next time I’m at Wendy’s, I’ll just get the frosty.

I agree Mike everyone and their uncle’s cousin is selling some form of coffee drink or what they claim to be coffee drinks. The fast food places just don’t seem to make it happen for me when it comes to the coffee drinks. Im sticking with the Frosty myself, thank you for the informative coffee review.
