This week’s question is “Where Do You Hangout Online And Talk Coffee?”
So where do you hangout and chat? Have any suggestions?
I’m always looking for new places to hangout online and talk about coffee with other enthusiasts. I think I’m most active on Twitter where I check in on a regular basis. I’m also spending more and more time on Facebook and just discovered Ning. There’s a couple of coffee forums that I’ve found, but none that I’m too active on yet besides Coffee Forums UK.
Last week’s poll was “How Do You Make Your Coffee?”
Nearly half (48%) answered drip coffee maker. No real shock there. I can’t remember the last time that I was in a house without a drip coffee maker.
Thirty-eight percent of you said french press. Excellent decision there. I don’t know if anything else can really bring out a coffee’s flavors like a french press.
Espresso machine was the third most popular answer with 21% of the vote.
Other also had 21%.
Single serve coffee machines only had two votes. However, I have a feeling that might change after Christmas. It seemed like every store was pushing single serve machines yesterday.

I got SPOILED in Italy … I have now abandoned my other methods and become a coffee snob with my own stovetop espresso.

I use a drip-pot and a press, but use the drip-pot more often. I love the press, and think it gives the truest taste of a coffee, but the cleanup it requires means that I reserve it for weekends and for brewing up the very best beans I get.

Nothing like waking up to coffee making music dripping into the carafe of the automatic drip coffeemaker. The aromas travel directly down the hall and hit me while I’m trying to catch just a few more winks. Inhaling the coffee seems to give me a boost to get that first leg out and up and starting the day.

I alternate between french press & stovetop moka pot…but the moka pot usually wins out, for that first cup of the day. Although I just bought a single -serving size ‘fr/pr’ & I find I’m using it more often.

Spending more time on twitter(not always talking coffee), but definitely more than I am at http://www.coffeegeek.com these days. But between you & Jason & Nate…oh & Poul at Transcend/ @transcendcoffee -every now’n'then-I’m usually talkin’ a fair bit of coffee talk.
I like Coffee Geek, although I feel that a lot of the equipment talk is over my head or more specialized than I’m ready for.
The three of us could definitely provide more than caffeinated talk. I’d love to see all three of us in a room.
I’ve been watching and enjoying the Transcend videos on their blog, didn’t even know they had a twitter. Thanks for pointing that out.
I must have missed the poll. In our house there is no coffee brewer. Jim has been a huge fan of the Melitta for as long as I can remember and so that’s the usual cup of coffee here. Also, when I’m hanging out in a coffeehouse, sometimes I’m glued to my phone because I’m checking twitter & tweeting.
I think I’ve been doing that more and more at coffee houses. However, I don’t get to coffee shops nearly often enough.
I have the hottest spot on the web for talking coffee, it’s the ONLY place I hang out and talk coffee, period.
