Why I Think Coffee Is Wonderful

Coffee is controversial. There are religious faiths that advise members against drinking it. There are people who think serving it with sugar and milk is a perfectly fine thing to do. I’ve even heard people say it’s unhealthy. But I think it’s the most wonderful thing on the face of the Earth, and I’ll tell you why.

As any fresh roasted coffee enthusiast will declare, it’s more than just a drink. It’s a lifestyle, with good conversations and people you enjoy being around. It helps you wake up and get going in the morning. Coffee shops provide the perfect atmosphere for creative energy and intriguing stories between friends. This drink is one where generations of men and women have sought after ways to improve the brewing process, and they’ll enthusiastically pass their luck down to their proteges, willing to learn all they can about the craft.

I think society is uptight these days. It’s easy to be driven to success and so focused on our jobs and financial security, that we miss the important things in life. Connecting with people is so incredibly important these days, because we’re becoming less connected as the world becomes increasingly internet-based. We interact with friends, family and coworkers online, but sitting down at a coffee shop with a hot cup and a good conversation is so important.

When I look back on some of my most cherished times spent with friends, I always seem to reflect on when I sit down for a cup of fresh roasted coffee with people I love. One time I took a date ice skating, and it was incredibly cold that day. We skated for what seemed like hours, and when the day was over we built a bonfire and shared a thermos of Jamaican Blue Mountain. We talked for a few more hours, and as the level of coffee in the thermos went down, the level of conversation grew until we became closer and more in tune with each other. We connected that day, and I’m thanking the coffee for capping of the night. I’m not saying coffee is an aphrodisiac. Or, am I?

Fresh roasted coffee is like a treasure that needs to be found. The best explorers use clues, like recommendations from friends and family, as well as reviews, cupping events, and their favorite coffee stores to find the road to the treasure. Coffee is something I could live without, but I can’t imagine my life without it! I love the vast array of tastes from the different beans, the smell and the sound of the grinder. I can’t help but talking and writing about it, and I hope you can do the same after reflecting on your great coffee experiences.

  1. I certainly couldn’t do without daily transfusions of caffeine, there’s nothing to start and end the day on a tasty beverage ;)

I think the subject of coffee is one which the non-drinker doesn’t understand. There’s seriously nothing better than a hot mug of coffee when I’m working! Thanks for your comments, guys.

We couldn’t agree more. It’s why our company slogan is “Good things happen over good coffee.”
