You Deserve A Break: Today Is National Coffee Break Day

If you’re like me, every day is National Coffee Break Day. I don’t need an excuse to step away from my desk and make some coffee. But if someone wants to declare today the official National Coffee Break Day, I’m not going to stop them.

That someone is the National Coffee Association and they’ve put together a website and worked with dozens and dozens of coffee companies to put on events celebrating National Coffee Break Day.

Those dozens and dozens of coffee companies include major multi-national coffee companies like Dunkin Donuts to mid size coffee roasters like Community Coffee to special coffee shops like Cafe Grumpy.

Events include everything from free shots of espresso, two for one coffee cocktails, 99 cent coffees and much more. One of my favorites is in Indianapolis, Indiana where Bjava Coffee and Tea is going to donate 25% of their sales to the non-profit organization Coffee Kids.

Check out the full list of events.

There’s no events in my area, but that’s okay, I’ll still be celebrating with some of my favorite coffees.

So how are you celebrating?

  1. It’s also a great excuse for National Coffee Association to celebrate their centennial this year. Amazing when you think about it. They’ve been around for one hundred years.

  2. Alex says:

I’m celebrating by going to work at a coffee bar; I wouldn’t have it otherwise.

  3. Nate says:

I celebrate every day! Cheers [_]D

Hi Mike! Everyday is national coffee day! But seriously, I just googled this and I think National Coffee day is 9/29/2011? But hey, January 19th was National Popcorn Day!
I’ve been drinking way to much Via lately. It’s like crack.

    • Mike says:

You missed out. That was National Coffee BREAK Day, not that either of us need an excuse to drink more coffee. I’m surprised Starbucks didn’t do anything for the day.

  5. Kenneth says:

Pity it’s not International Coffee Break Day! Then I’m sure I could join in the action! Guess that’s what happens when you live in a tea-drinking nation!
